Position Summary
In support of the College’s mission, vision and values, the Human Resources Officer implements and administers sound Human Resources practices as they relate to recruitment, organizational development, employment and salary administration, employee health and wellness and human resource planning.

Coordinates the full recruitment and selection cycle for support staff and faculty positions including job postings, classifying/screening criteria, interview questions, testing, and managing the closing process ensuring the proper administration of reference checks, job offer letters and new hire documentation.

Provides leadership, advice, guidance, and support to hiring managers and interview committees while ensuring compliance with 3 collective agreements and relevant employment legislation.

Provides leadership, support and consultation to line management in the determination of training and development needs. Coordinates the delivery and/or contracting of service by internal or external trainers.

Defines short
- and long-term objectives for employee and faculty development ensuring the strategic commitments and mission of the College are incorporated

Develops policies and procedures to address professional development, succession planning, retention initiatives, performance management, and recruitment to ensure the College employee base is adequate and appropriate to meet current and future requirements.

Oversees performance management processes.

Manages the Employee Engagement strategy that includes solutions that support organizational transformation to achieve and sustain high engagement and performance levels.

Analyzes patterns in employee data (i.e. metrics such as employee survey results and event evaluations etc.) to shape engagement activities, maximize impact and evaluate success.
