YOUR CHALLENGE
Reporting to the Director, Greenfield Origination, North America and in close collaboration with the North America Business Unit, you will be a key player throughout the Origination Phase of Boralex projects in Ontario.
**Your responsibilities will be as follows**:
- Identify development opportunities, manage early stage development projects, and execute Boralex’s Greenfield expansion plans in Ontario;
- Make development and commercial recommendations on where best to originate projects;
- Execute Real Estate and Interconnection Strategies to yield best investment opportunities
- Work with the broader Boralex team with on-site identification, commercial viability and host community consultation strategies;
- Build and maintain solid relationships based on trust with project stakeholders;
- Have a keen Interest in Provincial and Federal Policy and understand how policy influences investment opportunities;
- Work with Directors and Origination Manager peers implementating Greenfield Development Efforts.
YOUR SKILLS
- Prior renewable energy project development an asset;
- Minimum 5 years experience in renewable energy project development;
- Have a strong understanding of the development process of a utility scale solar, wind, and/or energy storage project - from inception (identifying suitable sites) to operation (site management during Operation). Have a general knowledge of how these energy technologies work;
- Have previous municipal and public consultation experience;
- University/College education in a relevant discipline (engineering, environment, entrepreneurship, or other);
- Have an ability to understand and relate to rural life in various parts of Ontario
- Able to work under pressure and to manage a number of files simultaneously with short deadlines;
- Persuasive, with highly developed analytical and summarizing skills;
- Ability to travel for extended periods independently when needed
- Have a positive outgoing personality and comfortable with meeting and engaging new people, maintaining a professional attitude during all engagements;
- Demonstration of success;
- Strong reporting practices;
- Must be a team player but also be self motivated and work independently.
