**ABOUT THE JOB**:
The CMHA BC Communications Team is responsible for developing and leading internal and external communications and engagement strategies. This is achieved through a broad range of activities related to advertising, media relations, issues management, social media, employee communications, and community relations. The Junior Communications Coordinator role plays a key supporting function in strategy, project execution, and mission-driven communication practices.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Write, publish, and monitor content across all digital media channels, ensuring enhancing organizational visibility.
- Respond to comments and messages promptly, fostering positive interactions and addressing inquiries.
- Assist in the creation and execution of innovative internal and external communication plans that align with brand guidelines, organizational objectives, and key messaging.
- Support and implement effective internal communication strategies and activities to enhance employee engagement.
- Assist with research, write, and develop content for various formats, including print and digital, adhering to CMHA's style guide and governance standards.
- Assist with website content update, coordinate digital advertising efforts, and support the planning and execution of events and other communication initiatives.
- Monitor digital content engagement, analyze user behavior, and suggest improvements to enhance effectiveness.
- Provide design support for both print and digital materials, ensuring all outputs are visually compelling and consistent with brand standards.
- Assist with print production and delivery, ensuring materials are available for various initiatives and events.
- Support research activities and assist in the development of public engagement strategies that effectively reach key audiences.
- Contribute creative ideas for proactive engagement with target demographics.
- Work closely with members of the communications team on various projects, events, and initiatives, contributing to enhancing mental health literacy, stigma reduction, and overall organization mission and values.
- Provide additional support as needed to ensure the successful delivery of communication objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned, adapting to the evolving needs of the organization and communication landscape.
**ABOUT YOU**:
**Education**
- Certificate, Degree, or Diploma in Communications, Marketing, and/or related fields.
- Digitally Savvy, excelled proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Experience in design tools is strong asset i.e. Adobe Creative Suite.
- Website content management experience is strong asset.
- Demonstrable competency and curiosity in best practice communications, intercultural communications, and engagement planning.

- A solution-oriented, enthusiastic self-starter with an interest in mental health and community engagement.
- Proven ability to create creative, dynamic, and engaging content, both written and visual, that resonates with diverse audiences.
- Solid organization, event planning, and time management skills, excellent attention to detail, ability to balance multiple priorities, and produce materials to meet tight deadlines.
- Team player with a strong focus on collaboration, supporting colleagues, trying new approaches, and delivering results.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:
- This is a hybrid role; preference is to have this position based at the Victoria and/ or Vancouver offices, however another location may be considered.
- The position is unionized through the Community Bargaining Association (CBA) and the hourly rate is $24.76 - $26.38.
- This position is temporary until September 01, 2025.
- Combination of working from home and working from office is required.
- The usual work week is 37.5 hrs. Most work is accomplished during the usual 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. business hours.
