Owned by Innvest Hotels, Canada’s largest owner & operator of hotels and focused exclusively on hospitality, Marriott Ottawa is preparing to begin a transformative, top to bottom renovation of all guestrooms, meeting and event space as well as all public areas, commencing in 2023, positioning the hotel to continue its storied legacy of hospitality excellence.

**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE**:
Assisting in the Management of Food and Beverage Operations Activities associated with Restaurant, Bar/Lounge, and other Food and Beverage Outlets
- Being a guest service Ambassador for guests and hosts.
- Opens and closes restaurant, bar, or food and beverage outlet shifts.
- Supervises operations for all related areas in the absence of the Manager.
- Utilizes and analyses the Labour report.
- Adheres to and reinforces all standards, policies, and procedures.
- Communicates and executes departmental and hotel emergency procedures and monitors staff readiness concerning safety procedures.
- Understands departmental goals and assists in monitoring them
- Demonstrates self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm.
- Ensures all hosts have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
- Maintains food handling, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.
- Motivates and encourages hosts to solve guest and host-related concerns.
- Trains hosts on cash handling, credit policies and procedures, and liquor control policies and procedures.
- Attends and participates in all pertinent meetings.

Leading Food and Beverage Operations Teams in Day-to-Day Activities, Holding Teams to High Work Standards, and Modeling Those Standards
- Creates and nurtures an environment that emphasizes motivation, empowerment, teamwork, continuous improvement, and a passion for providing service.
- Participates in department meetings by communicating a clear and consistent message regarding the departmental goals to produce desired results.
- Provides a learning atmosphere with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Provides feedback to hosts based on observation of service behaviours.
- Responds quickly and proactively to the host's concerns.
- Providing Exceptional Customer Service.
- Responds quickly and proactively to customer concerns.
- Assists in the review of comment cards and guest satisfaction results with hosts.
- Interacts with customers to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
- Sets a positive example for customer relations.
- Other reasonable duties as required.

**JOB SPECIFICATIONS**:

- **Education/Experience and skills**_
- Progressive experience in food and beverage (restaurant/lounge/bar) is required.
- Diploma or Certificate in Hotel Management preferred.
- Computer knowledge of Excel, CI/TY, and ADP preferred.
- Must be able to work variable shifts, evenings and weekends will be required.
- Excellent decision-making skills with a passion for Brilliant Hosting.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Energetic, self-starter, and team player.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multitask.
- Able to work independently and under pressure with little supervision at times.
- Must be able to work variable shifts.
- Proficiency in both official languages (English & French) is preferred.
