**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Assistant Director, High Performance Sport, and working in consultation with the Student-Athlete Services Coordinator, the Sport Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the effective development and growth of the Competitive Sport Club stream within the Department of Athletics and Recreation. Providing a participation option between the intramural program and the high performance varsity program, the competitive sport club stream is intended to provide a competitive sport development environment in which student leadership is at the forefront. Working with student leaders from the competitive clubs, the incumbent will help develop and implement policy, procedures and practices to govern the program in a safe, reputable, sustainable and accessible manner.

As required, attends games, practices and competitions as required which is primarily evenings and weekends.

**Qualifications**:
**The incumbent must possess the following qualifications**:

- Knowledge of sport and student development is required.
- Demonstrated skills in program administration.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet multiple deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships. Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
- Valid CPR, First Aid certification and experience managing risk in a sport setting preferred.
- Demonstrated self-starter, quick learner and innovative mindset.
- Must be competent with Microsoft Office products.
- Preference will be given to those that are fluently bilingual (French and English).
- Experience working in Banner considered an asset.

**Education and Experience**:
**The above is normally acquired through**:

- The completion of a university degree.
- At least one year of related experience or equivalent, preferably within a university environment with knowledge of U Sports, Ontario University Athletics and Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec.
