**Job Summary**

The Associated Planner is responsible for carrying out daily planning activities for Intermodal (IM) terminals. The role ensures adequate blocks are provided and traffic is protected for maximum daily capacity with minimum left-behinds and optimized slot utilization. The incumbent collaborates with team members across multiple IM groups to plan, prioritize and optimize train movement across the network. The incumbent is also accountable for ensuring continued stakeholder engagement.

**Main Responsibilities**

**Network Terminal Planning**
- Plan for and follow up on each block of every train and review with terminal to ensure loading of traffic to reservation and block requirements for day of departure
- Support daily execution of train plan
- Work closely with terminals on priority loading
- Work closely with Reservation team on planning, including prioritizing customer requirements and terminal capacity
- Collaborate with Cube team on weekly requirements
- Monitor vessel cut-offs and prioritization of terminals
- Adjust and communicate daily plan across various IM groups
- Manage Reservation team without compromising left-behinds
- Optimize train and slot utilization across the network
- Ensure adequate lift capacity
- Communicate reservations and left-behinds internally and externally

**Stakeholder Engagement**
- Lead IM Terminal and Network morning calls to ensure stakeholders understand and are able to execute plan
- Focus on bridging gaps and maximizing synergy between Transportation and IM Network groups
- Manage and maintain relationships, communication and collaboration with internal customers including IM Terminals, Transportation, Intermodal Planning and Customer service groups

**Requirements**:
**Experience**

Transportation Planning
- Minimum 2 years of previous experience in transportation planning
- Experience interacting with customers
- Experience in logistics management*
- Experience with CN’s Intermodal network*
- Any experience for these above would be considered as an asset

**Education/Certification/Designation**
- Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in Transportation, Logistics or Business

**Technical Skills/Knowledge**
- Knowledge of Transportation, Intermodal Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain systems
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Access
- Knowledge of CN Systems including Service Reliability System (SRS), Right Time Business Intelligence (RTBI), Oasis and Pegasus*
- Working knowledge of terminal and yard operations*
- Any knowledge for any of the above would be considered as an asset
