Position Overview:
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler will coordinate, plan and schedule work orders, and intermittently supervise contractor maintenance tasks. Will also ensure all parts are available to perform the jobs, maintain ongoing library of drawings, sketches, pictures and catalogues of parts. Will review jobs to determine labor, parts and priority, as well to ensure safety is a priority at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

- Review work requests for accuracy and clarity and approves them as needed
- Escalates issues to the Maintenance Manager, for work that does not appear to be valid or well justified
- Work with Production Supervisors and Production Manager to ensure that assets are prepared for maintenance work as scheduled
- Work with Engineering Department and Reliability Engineer to ensure documentation (including drawings, BOM-s, instructions etc.) are readily available for trades people, prior to commencing the work
- Work with Material Handling Coordinator to ensure that all parts required for the jobs have been identified, secured and properly kitted well in advance
- Work with external sources (i.e. rental companies) to ensure special tools, aerial equipment etc., as well as service technicians are available as needed
- Provide job estimates and follow-up to ensure they have been accurately met by the tradespersons
- Work with Maintenance Department to ensure tasks have all the necessary instructions, tools and safety precautions for the job at hand. Provides feedback to the Maintenance and Electrical Supervisors prior to completing the work orders that were signed-off by the tradespersons.
- Lead weekly planning and scheduling meetings for line shutdowns
- Provide training and support to maintenance personnel on CMMS as required
- Manage work order backlog based on equipment criticality
- Keep accurate metrics on performance of planning and scheduling and provides reports to Reliability Engineer
- Provide support to Corporate Reliability Team and collaborates with other IKO Plants as required
- Participate actively in any new projects initiated by the Company, such as introduction of predictive maintenance, new CMMS, etc.
- Follows-up with tradespersons and contractors to ensure work requirements associated with preventative maintenance, projects and day-to-day work orders are completed
- Promote a culture that reinforces Company’s values and expectations
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- Planning/scheduling experience with CMMS
- Mechanical/Electrical background is required
- Post-secondary degree/diploma
- Adequate knowledge and skill to accurately estimate labor hours, material requirement and skills needed to complete a job. Must have a demonstrated ability to visualize and communicate the execution of work
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Strong mathematical skills
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide simple and accurate instructions
- Ability to read standard blueprints, machine and process drawings
- Knowledge and understanding of the maintenance processes and proper use of the work order system, planning and scheduling, and storeroom processes
- Ability to manage multiple priorities or projects simultaneously and keep them progressing to completion
- Excellent organization and analytical skills (problem solving & trouble shooting) skills
- Good working knowledge of MS office
