Our Edmonton distribution center is now seeking a seasoned Purchasing and Inventory team member to oversee purchasing activities for all of Western Canada and ensure our inventory meets the unique demands of the western market.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement purchasing strategies tailored to the Western Canadian market, considering the unique portfolio and market demands different from our Ontario headquarters.
- Manage all aspects of purchasing for the Edmonton distribution location, extending support across Western Canada.
- Conduct market analysis to understand regional trends, ensuring the product range meets local customer needs and preferences.
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate contracts, improve terms and ensure a steady supply of inventory at optimal costs.
- Monitor inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock availability and turnover, and reducing excess and obsolete stock.
- Work closely with the sales and operations teams to forecast demand and adjust purchasing plans accordingly.
- Implement and maintain inventory management systems and processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain relationships with existing suppliers while actively seeking new suppliers to expand product offering.
- Stay informed of industry trends and advancements to maintain competitiveness and adapt to the evolving market.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field would be considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of the automotive and industrial heavy-duty aftermarket industry.
- Experience in purchasing and inventory management within the aftermarket industry, preferably in Western Canada.
- Strong understanding of the Western Canadian market and aftermarket trends.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficient in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
