Assistant Executive Housekeeper

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Assist with the day to day operations of the Housekeeping Department
- Management of housekeeping operations including scheduling, payroll, supply and inventory control while keeping within department budgets and forecasts.
- Lead, motivate, train, and monitor performance of team members. Continuously strives for an engaged, enthusiastic high performing team through recruitment and development, enabling all employees to realize their full potential. Creating a positive environment that encourages empowerment, initiative and development.
- Ongoing maintenance of Hilton Brand standards in housekeeping standards and cleanliness of front and back of house.
- Develop close and effective working relationships within Housekeeping and cross-functionally with all departments, particularly Front Office and Engineering.
- Ensure guest satisfaction by actively seeking feedback from team members and guests, following-up and taking action.
- Manage and work with contractors.
- Maintain guest and hotel confidentiality at all times.
- Other management functions required in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Houskeeper and General Manager.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- A college diploma in tourism or business management is an asset, as is National Occupational Certification as a Housekeeping Room Attendant, or equivalent experience within housekeeping department
- Experience in a supervisory/leadership position within hotel setting an asset
- Professional attitude, and excellent written and verbal communication
- Must be a friendly, enthusiastic individual who is neat and professional in appearance
- Must be able to effectively coach and direct coworkers
- Proven ability to handle and follow up on guest and team member complaints and concerns
- Able to take initiative and to be a self starter
- Computer literate with knowledge of Windows, including Word and Excel
- Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail essential
- Strong administrative & organizational skills essential
- Desire to work in a team based environment
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHIMIS) certification is an asset
