**ABOUT THE ROLE**

**WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING**
- Identifies and specifies integration opportunities (process/data integration).
- Provides technical support for the operation and maintenance of hardware, software, technology infrastructure within the Department in accordance with Federal, Provincial, Regional, and Departmental policies and procedures.
- Assists with the development of technical training materials and user documentation, participates in the preparation of presentations and acts as the presenter, as directed.
- Informs management of changing technology environments and advises on its implications; regularly reviews technical literature regarding system methodologies, development productivity tools and techniques.
- Provides input to management for the planning process as it relates to technology type assets.
- Provides input on recommendations for, and implementation of, future information systems to enhance Branch productivity.
- Participates on a multi-disciplinary team; provides contributions to strategic plans, implementation plans and ongoing support of information systems and automation initiatives within the Department.
- Participates in performance metrics planning activities as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned, in accordance with Branch and Department objectives.

**WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR**
- Successful completion of a Community College Diploma in Computer Sciences or related field or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience with responsibilities for computer systems technical end-user support, database and network administration and computer configuration tasks.
- Experience in computer systems development processes using databases and programming languages, including MS Access, Visual Basic and SQL.
- Valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s license and reliable vehicle for use on corporate business.
- Demonstrated knowledge of IBM-compatible PC configurations, components, communication and functions.
- Demonstrated understanding of the role of technology as an enabler to business practices.
- Knowledge and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including customer focus, communication, collaboration and personal ownership.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills to develop creative solutions to complex technology problems.
