**YOUR ROLE**

Facilities
- Under the guidance/direction of the MSP, develops a capital equipment and facilities plan for the organization and implements based on approved expenditures; monitors and controls DeafBlind Ontario Services physical assets and related inventory.
- Under the guidance/direction of the MSP and regional management team, develops and implements (within approved budgets) location maintenance plans for the organization, in conjunction with the regional teams, to ensure DeafBlind Ontario Services compliance with all applicable legislation, standards, and/or policies.
- Conducts and/or coordinates physical and related inspections to ensure compliance with applicable building and safety standards within designated regions including, but not limited to, WHMIS, DSA, Building & Fire Codes, and local by-laws.
- With regional management team, ensures regular mandatory maintenance inspections/service are documented and completed on capital items (vehicles, furnace/AC, lifts, generators, fire suppression systems, health, etc.).
- Reviews and makes recommendations on contracts related to the equipment and facilities of DeafBlind Ontario Services, including lawn, snow, internet, telephones and other maintenance,
- With regional management team, develops relationships and networks with municipalities and local fire, health, and other departments/vendors of importance where DeafBlind Ontario Services operates, or has plans to operate in the future; actively supports the opening of new locations, working with the regional management team where necessary, and ensuring that all tenders, building permits and other requirements are in place.
- Responsible for the proper tracking of organizational assets, ensuring proper policies and procedures are followed for purchasing and disposal. Ensures, on an annual basis, location and individuals inventory records are current.
- Works with Finance Department to ensure invoices are approved and submitted for payment as per the terms of the contracts.
- Creates purchase orders as required by vendors, once approval has been received to proceed with purchase/service.

IT
- Responsible for computer, networks, and telephone installation, updates and support for employees that may need assistance
- Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.) and documents equipment as per purchasing procedures in asset manager.
- Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems on equipment. Work with IT consultant when issues need to be escalated
- Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
- Maintain an up-to-date listing of all inventory located within the organization
- Trains users in system operation, as needed

**Requirements**:

- Diploma/degree in related field is preferred
- 1-3 years of related experience
- Able to quickly analyze issues and determine best course of action using available resources.
- Sound judgment to escalate issues to senior members
- Knowledge of IT management software tools.
- Excellent written, oral, and telephone communication skills.

Able to communicate in user-friendly language.
