Van Kam is currently hiring a Human Resources Manager to be based out of the head office in Surrey. This position reports to the Director of HR and works closely with management, ownership, and both non-union and unionized employees throughout all 8 terminals in BC.

The position:

- Direct and manage full cycle recruitment and all recruitment initiatives, including but not limited to interviewing, consulting with managers, onboarding, and advertising
- Oversee and mentor HR Administrator on a variety of tasks including recruitment, health and wellness initiatives, and employee engagement activities
- Support managers and employees in conflict resolution and performance management
- Write and review policies and ensure support and understanding by management and employees
- Coordinate training and development initiatives for all staff
- Work with Director of HR to ensure compliance with Federal employment regulations
- Work with the HR team on employee engagement activities, such as employee appreciation lunches, birthday treat month, social activities and more

- Have 3-5 years progressive HR Experience as a Generalist, HR Business Partner, or HR Manager
- Experience working in a federally regulated company, as well as a unionized environment is an asset
- Be a team player and able to think on their feet

- Be comfortable with occasional travel
