Support Desk Specialist

Adaptive Technical has an exciting opportunity to join our team and gain experience with a medium sized organization. We are seeking a Support Desk Specialist to provide our customers across the Lower Mainland with operational and technical support.

Reporting to the Customer Service Manager, the Support Desk Specialist will maintain strong relationships with our clients while providing remote technical assistance and guiding customers through the resolution process. As part of the team, our specialist must be comfortable working with a high-end ticketing system and remote access tools. Additionally, as our users span the Lower Mainland, our team and this role have flexible hours to support all, along with after-hours support.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide hardware, software, and connectivity support to end-user equipment (e.g. desktop, laptop, tablet, mobile equipment), while ensuring adherence to Corporate IT standards.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot PC system hardware and software
- Manage Active Directory / Exchange / Office 365 user accounts
- Maintain asset inventory
- Malware and virus removal
- Travel to customer sites may be required periodically
- Maintain knowledge of and acquire new skills in technologies which add value to areas of direct responsibility
- Participate in after-hours support schedule and flex hours as needed

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an IT technical helpdesk or similar environment, including experience dealing with vendors to open and resolve tickets
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills to work with all levels of staff
- Superior customer service mindset
- Analytical problem-solving skills
- Basic router and switch knowledge
- Strong understanding of Windows File and Folder level permissions
- Experience working with: Active Directory, Mobile Device Management, Backup systems, Windows 7/8/10, Windows Server 2012/2016/2019, Microsoft 365 platform including Office 365, Virtual environments, IOS, and Android Operating Systems
- Experience supporting VPN, DNS, DCHP and Wireless networks
- Post-secondary education in a related field would be considered an asset
- Current MCSA, A+, and Network+ certification would be considered an asset
