**_Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Account Executive - Fire & Life Safety, to join our amazing culture at our Ottawa location. In this role, you will prospect and cultivate new relationships, gaining an understanding of our clients’ needs while securing sales opportunities. **What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”**
- Actively, and personally engage in the selling of Fire & Life Safety solutions in the marketplace to end users, contractors, consultants, and the EPCM market.
- Work with Sales and Operations teams to execute the growth, development, sales and marketing of all Fire & Life Safety offered by Convergint.
- It will be expected that the development of E&I opportunities are performed as a team and that you will work closely with the E&I Account Management teams, operations teams, and sales leadership to execute the actions consistent and in support of the Canadian fire business plan.
- Develop and promote company image and awareness through marketing campaigns, direct mailings and attend key tradeshows and industry events as determined by your supervisor.
- Meet directly with customers to establish their needs, and to drive the overall sales process.
- Target new business opportunities using your industry contacts and expertise.
- Stay current with new technologies, new products offerings, business strategies and market conditions so as to support and enhance sales activities.
- Work strategically on targeted new construction projects with electrical and general contractors.
- Adhere to and promote all safety programs in place at Convergint in all locations.
- Construct and submit a professional written proposal with established deadlines.
- Take an active role in helping sales leadership cross train the greater Convergint sales team on how to identify and develop fire opportunities.

**_ As a secondary focus,_**
- Cultivate and close Fire & Life Safety projects and associated service opportunities with strategic end-use customers in the institutional, commercial, and energy and industrial markets.
- Actively, and personally engage in the selling of Fire & Life Safety solutions in the marketplace to end users, contractors, consultants, and the EPCM market.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required

**What You’ll Need**
- Advanced sales skills and ability to uncover effective customer solutions
- Solid teamwork skills
- Shows initiative - engages in proactive behavior and looks for opportunities
- Very adaptable - responds effectively to changes in situation or information; ability to influence others and build consensus
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Good demonstrated ability in strategic selling or large account management. Supportable by successful examples.
- Advanced negotiation skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Solid knowledge and understanding of IT networking principles

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of five years of previous account development, sales or related experience required
- Four years of experience in the fire alarm & life safety industry
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering or Business or related field of study or equivalent experience preferred
- Knowledge of Edwards product line
- Must have valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
