**Camosun College is hiring Instructors to join Eyēʔ Sqȃ’lewen (Centre for Indigenous Education & Community Connection).**

- Capable of thriving in a BC post-secondary education setting that’s welcoming and relevant to Indigenous learners and helping to prepare non-Indigenous students, graduates and employees to better understand, live alongside of, and work with Indigenous peoples.

We are looking to hire for FOUR sections of**:IST 120: Understanding Indigenous Peoples (3 credits)**

IST 120 runs for 14 weeks from January 2025 to April 2025. Applicants are asked to specify in their cover letter how their experience prepares/qualifies them to teach this course.

Grounded in a strong commitment to Indigenous community, Indigenous education and relational values, and lived experiences, IECC Instructors transform students’ worlds by recognizing them as intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual beings. Our students engage in holistic education and learn in classrooms, in community, and on the land with supportive instructors who are culturally informed, student centered, and value preparing students for achieving their educational, employment, and community contribution goals.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Indigenous Studies at the Post-Secondary level and Indigenous Studies at the Community Wellness level
- Master’s Degree in Education or related field preferred
- 2 years’ teaching experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Knowledge of Indigenous educational, social and cultural issues emerging from lived experience and study
- An Indigenous student-centered approach and a demonstrated positive, enthusiastic and caring manner that is at all times, respectful of the adult learner
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience facilitating learning and instruction with information and communication technology
- Strong commitment to adult education and student success using trauma-informed teaching practices to support diverse students
- Experience using creative and culturally relevant instructional practices
- Experience in program/curriculum development and knowledge of adult education principles and concepts in Indigenous post-secondary education
