Reporting directly to the Senior Operations Support Director, you'll find yourself working in a large and collaborative team. Your role will span across departments, engaging with finance, operations, our care center, development team, IT, and trade experts, truly making every day exciting.

The challenge? A very hands-on manual role performing critical functions. Managing a team of 17, you'll guide them towards excellence in financial operations. The opportunity? The potential for growth, with a pathway leading towards taking on further responsibilities in financial operations.

The base salary for this role is: $70,000 - $100,000 CAD

**Responsibilities**:

- Payment and Transactions Processing handles all transactions related to loans, including posting manual payments received, batching outgoing loan payments, reconciling financial data, funding loans, loan servicing (due date changes), waives, reimbursements, paydowns, balance inquiries
- Work closely with the finance department while leading a separate team dedicated to payment & transaction processing.
- Manage ACH (Automated Clearing House) payments
- Handling various payment methods/solutions etc.
- Supervise and maintain large transaction volumes, ensuring accuracy, and checking error rates.
- Handle reconciliations (internal audit) - maintain, review, balance, investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Audit - manage data gathering for PTP and other departments
- Cases - manage volumes, check error rates, compile data on cases, analyze
- Funding - making sure staffing levels are adequate to fund based on current loan volume
- Conduct spot checks and implement corrective measures to optimize performance
- Oversee the team 17 people management and coverage of holidays and coverage to ensure continuous operations
- Coordinate and participate in audits, gathering and organizing data for audit purposes.
- Handle the funding of loans and maintain strong relationships with banking partners (e.g., BMO and PaySafe)
- Demonstrate initiative and proactively address operational challenges, fostering a problem-solving mindset within the team and between departments
- Leverage creativity to optimize resources and enhance manual processes

**Requirements**:

- Advanced expert level in Excel and a high level of technical competency. This is the primary tool for reconciliations. Ability to create and maintain databases, queries, developing data models for analysis and reporting
- Proven experience in payment processing and transaction management. Credit products, interest calculations, lending financial transactions
- Possession of an accounting designation
- Familiarity with audits and reconciliation
- Strong problem-solving skills and creative thinking in addressing operational challenges.
- Familiarity with TDC (Transaction Data Capture) processes
- CRM & TDC (TranDotCom) - processing transaction software experience preferred
- Willingness to undergo training for a role that involves long learning timelines. Approximately 6 months learning curve. Learning every function of this department
- Creative resourcefulness in optimizing manual processes
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with critical due dates
- Leadership experience, demonstrating effective team management and collaboration skills
