The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

**Position summary**
The regional research coordinator is a joint position between McGill and Institut Nordique du Québec (INQ). Through funding from the Government of Quebec, the INQ, is supporting a Chair in Northern Research at McGill. The position of research coordinator is based in the research group of the chairholder, at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) and reports to the same. In this role, the research coordinator is responsible for development, realization, and coordination of tasks related to: supporting northern and arctic research in Quebec at large by reaching out to research groups at other universities in the Montreal area and Sherbrooke, liaising with administrative offices at McGill, RI-MUHC, and the INQ office at Laval University for administrative matters such as budget and reporting.

About Institut Nordique du Québec (INQ)

**General Duties**
The research coordinator will be assigned to provide dedicated support to reach out to other universities in the Montreal and Sherbrooke areas to coordinate and support activities related to the INQ, and advance McGill’s and RI-MUHC’s involvement in the INQ.. The incumbent is expected to function at a high level of responsiveness and effectiveness within a complex, fast-paced office environment and provide outstanding organizational and communication support. The role of the incumbent is primarily coordination and networking, development and analysis, writing and administration.

**Education / Experience**

Education: Bachelor’s degree
- For applicants with substantial lived experience in Indigenous communities a High School Diploma can be accepted

Work Experience: 3-5 years’ experience of working within or in partnership with Indigenous representational organizations, or 3-5 years research administration in a Canadian university. Experience in policy and planning is an asset.

- Excellent writer with ability to prepare reports and presentations targeted to multiple audiences,
- Service-oriented approach to people and a proven ability to solve problems,
- Skills to bring together diverse stakeholders, leveraging individual strengths and overcoming differing points of view,
- Self-motivated, with well-developed organizational skills, able to effectively prioritize a wide range of responsibilities, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work in a dynamic environment,
- Must be able to meet tight deadlines and demonstrate a high level of professionalism in working with a team of people to achieve specific outcomes,
- Knowledge of and interest in working to increase cultural safety and address systemic, discrimination/racism within health care, research, and academic institutions,
- Knowledge of the research funding landscape in Canada and Quebec as well of research administration in general is a requirement.

**Additional information**

**Status**: Temporary Part-Time, 17.5 - 28 hours per week
**Pay Scale**: $26.00 to $48.29 per hour, commensurate with education & work experience
**Work Shift**: To be determined
**Work Site**: Mix of remote and on-site presence at 5252 de Maisonneuve
