**Your role**

In this role, your main focus will be on managing the administration of complaints addressed to the Office of the French Services Ombudsman.

More specifically, you will be in charge of sending acknowledgements of receipt, returning phone calls, filing and compiling complaints, following up on responses to said complaints and correcting various related documents.

You will play a support role in the complaint review process, preparing review files, compiling the necessary material and following up with the relevant people internally. This may include correcting and formatting reviews, sharing them internally and externally and posting them on the Ombudsman’s website. You will also update the annual list of reviews and complaint files.

You will play a support role in producing the Ombudsman’s mid-year update and annual report. You will provide the information needed to produce these reports (including statistics on complaints regarding the JSP and those involving matters outside the Ombudsman’s purview) as well as other related reports (lists of complaints on the same topic, reviews, etc.).

You will be responsible for managing the office’s administration, including arranging travel for the Ombudsman and tracking related expenses, as well as filing and preparing documents required to pay outside consultants or experts.

You will be responsible for keeping the office running in the Ombudsman’s absence.

This is an hybrid position.
- College diploma in administrative or paralegal studies or other related field (or acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Three (3) years’ experience performing similar or related duties
- Excellent command of spoken and written French
- Ability to be adaptable and handle stress
- Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality coupled with a strong sense of ethics
- Ability to display diplomacy and professionalism
- Self-reliance, resourcefulness and comfort with technology tools
- Knowledge of the media industry is an asset
- Understanding of CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices is an asset
- Bilingualism (English and French)
