about this team

The Global Sports Marketing (GSM) team is responsible for creating and executing Ambassador strategies in line with business goals and strategic priorities. Our ecosystem of Ambassador programs support bringing our brand and product to life for our guests.

The Athlete Manager, Special Projects (10 Month Contract) eats, sleeps and breathes relationships. They will work directly with our athletes to ensure that we are supporting and leveraging them to support business vision & goals and domestic sport partnerships. Cross functional work is essential with the following departments: Brand, Content and Social Media, Marketing, Brand Experience, Product, Partnerships, and North America Retail.

**a day in the life**: what you'll do
- You build and maintain relationships with athletes, teams, agents, coaches, and thought leaders.
- You maintain a cadence of contact with our athletes to identify opportunities to create impact out of their activities and support their initiatives.
- You work cross functionally with PR, Digital Marketing, Integrated Marketing, Brand, Product, and North America community and retail teams to leverage athletes’ influence in all areas of the business.
- You track, measure, and report on ambassadors’ activity and successes, on a monthly cadence.
- You inform and execute athlete marketing and activation plans in partnership with external stakeholders and third parties.
- You craft unique athlete marketing plans in partnership with cross functional stakeholders and the athletes themselves each year to bring the relationships to life.
- You ensure that we are a stand for inclusivity and equity in sport and inform marketing and storytelling in line with this.
- You gather insight on existing & emerging opportunities for the business and contribute to overall strategy.

qualifications
- 5+ years experience Athlete and/or Sports Marketing with a global brand.
- Excellent communicator who leads with transparency and can set clear expectations.
- Strong understanding of the evolving athlete, sport, and content marketing landscape.
- Strong understanding of the up coming trends & ins and outs of Canada’s sport landscape.
- Proven leadership skills and can inspire and enroll others.
- Self-starter and have the ability to work independently.
- Organized, yet can be flexible to take on the unexpected.
- A true relator and a connector; building rapport with others is something that comes effortlessly to you.
- Ability to travel 30%.
