**Position Title**: Manager, Special Projects

**Reporting to**: Executive Director

**Duration**: This is a full-time contract position to March 2026 with the possibility of extension depending on funding renewal.

**Working Hours**: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This is a hybrid position and is located at our office with occasional travel to other sites.

We are seeking a self-motivated and results-driven individual to play a lead role in designing, developing, executing, and evaluating NEW’s special projects. The Manager will lead innovative programs at NEW including leadership programs, seniors programs, mentorship and career coaching programs, experiential learning projects, as well as NEW signature events and public forums including the annual International Women’s Day forum and immigrant women in leadership speaker series. In addition, the Manager will oversee NEW’s digital transformation project. The Manager will support the Executive Director in conducting research to support new programming ideas, proposal and grant writing, and partnership development.

The Newcomer Women’s Services Toronto (NEW) is an award winning not-for-profit charity organization that was founded by a group of Latin American refugees in 1983 with a vision of strong women building strong communities. A multi-service agency with operations in two Toronto locations serving 800+ Immigrants and Refugees annually. The agency was awarded a Non-profit Employer of Choice Award in 2020 The Canadian Non-profit Employer of Choice Awards (NEOC) recognizes organizations across Canada that have committed themselves to better business management practices to achieve their mission. With almost 40 years of operations, NEW has been providing settlement, employment, youth programs and services, as well as English language training for newcomers and immigrants. NEW also delivers special programs focused on immigrant women empowerment, leadership and skills development, and mentorship and career advancement for immigrant and refugee women.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- **Program Design, Implementation, and Evaluation**_
- Design, develop, and implement evidence-based programs that meet the needs of newcomer women.
- Develop curriculum, learning outcomes, and lesson plans for various programs, as well as evaluation tools and frameworks to effectively measure clients learning, satisfaction and program impact.
- Monitor the progress of programs, collect clients’ feedback, and ensure we are always meeting funders’ targets and metrics.
- Lead current programs offered by NEW including Sister2Sister, SistersatthecentrE, Advanced Leadership
- Develop and submit final program impact reports promptly catered towards funders, donors, and clients.
- Plan and host community consultations to co-create and co-design programs with newcomer women and those with lived experiences and expert groups.
- Create a recruitment and outreach strategy to recruit participants in our programs.
- Create an annual programs and special projects calendar and promote our program offerings to newcomer women.
- **Special Projects Management**_
- Coordinate and lead all NEW special projects including annual signature events, summits, and public forums.
- Develop and maintain project work plans for the ongoing progress and execution of project deliverables.
- Create and manage project budget, in consultation with the Senior Manager, Finance and Administration.
- Develop requests for proposals/quotes and the selection process for hiring consultants, as needed.
- Oversee vendors and consultants and ensure high-quality and timely completion of deliverables.
- Track, monitor, and report on statistics and outcomes to highlight the impact of special projects.
- Develop experiential learning and work-integrated learning projects to support immigrant women's social, cultural, civic, and economic integration.
- **Grants and Proposal Writing**_
- Support the Executive Director in conducting market research, Project proposals, and grant writing.
- Identify different sources of funding to sustain our programs.
- Secure at least one new source of funding to grow our programs and special projects, while supporting the team with their fundraising efforts and strategies.
- **Stakeholders Engagement and Partnership Development**_
- Build and strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders including clients, funders, partners, and sponsors.
- Identify new opportunities for partnerships and collaborations with different sectors.
- Engage various stakeholders in our program planning, design, and efforts for continuous improvements
- **Team Management**_
- Supervise, and coach special projects staff to ensure programmatic and team success, as well as to support the team’s ongoing professional development and growth.
