About the role

The eStruxture Data Center Operations and Infrastructure manager is a critical operational role to manage the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and optimization of the critical infrastructure. This position is mainly focussed on Mechanical & Electrical systems operations, monitoring, preventative maintenance, optimization & incident management. The role’s ultimate objective is to provide the highest levels of availability and uptime for data centre critical systems in a rapidly changing, high growth environment. The DCIM role reports to the Regional Director of Operations & Infrastructure, manages a team of 2 Mechanical Operators and is focussed primarily on Data Centers located in the Montreal Region.

**Responsibilities**:
The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Assist DCM’s in the region to elaborate preventative maintenance plans
- Create and maintain strong relationships with preferred partners, vendors, customers & colleagues
- Plan the MMF teams activities in Montreal as well as mentor their technical growth
- Optimize Mechanical systems to reduce energy consumption while ensuring uptime
- Create, maintain, and review mechanical systems MOP’s, SOP’s and ensure that all procedures are followed
- Review Vendor Service Contracts scope of work and provide proposals of outsourcing versus internal activities
- Participate and support audit/compliance programs
- Assist DCM’s in preparing Change Control Board information for Mechanical maintenance activities
- Ensure Health & Safety best practices are communicated and followed by MMF team and contractors
- Provide budgetary input to DCM’s during forecasting cycles and ensure adherence to, OPEX and CAPEX budgets
- Create and maintain open issues list (backlog)
- Management & communication of critical environment incidents
- Available off hours for emergencies
- Publish teams on call rotation schedule

**Qualifications**:

- Min 5 years relevant experience with mechanical/electrical systems
- Class A Licensed MMF (Stationary engineer an asset)
- Understanding of data centre topologies, standards, and best practices. Uptime Institute tiering, BICSI and ASHRAE an asset
- Prior experience in mission critical facilities environments
- Prior experience in managing & leading staff
- Prior experience in operating & maintaining closed loop chiller loop systems as well as DX units
- Knowledge of Provincial Building Codes & Regulations such as CCQ, RBQ an asset
- Intermediate excel skills

Ce poste est principalement axé sur les opérations des systèmes mécaniques et électriques, la surveillance, la maintenance préventive, l'optimisation et la gestion des incidents. L'objectif ultime de ce poste est de fournir les plus hauts niveaux de disponibilité et de temps de fonctionnement pour les systèmes critiques du centre de données dans un environnement en évolution rapide et à forte croissance. Le poste de DCIM relève du directeur régional des opérations et de l'infrastructure, gère une équipe de deux opérateurs mécaniques et se concentre principalement sur les centres de données situés dans la région de Montréal.

Responsabilités

Les tâches et responsabilités comprennent, sans se limiter aux tâches suivantes:

- Aider les DCM de la région à élaborer des plans de maintenance préventive.
- Créer et maintenir des relations solides avec les partenaires privilégiés, les vendeurs, les clients et les collègues.
