Reporting to the Product Manager, the Product Owner is responsible for supporting the product vision by partnering with relevant stakeholders to capture user priorities and translate business requirements into well-defined user stories for Development. This tactical role will collaborate with the scrum team to organize sprints and optimize the product backlog to ensure StoreForce maximizes our product value, while aligning with overall business strategy.

The Product Owner will collaborate with a broad range of internal teams to collect feedback on new development ideas and existing features. This role is based in our Toronto office.

**WHAT YOU'LL DO**

**1.** **Research & Planning -**
- Partner with Sales, Services, and Support teams as needed to understand business needs, requirements, and priorities from a user’s perspective;
- Translate business requirements into well-defined product epics, user stories, diagrams, process flows, business rules, and acceptance criteria; Present ideas to the Product Manager for review and approval
- Collaborate with the Development team to understand technical limitations when defining User Story functional requirements

**2.** **Solution Design -**
- Maintain the product backlog for assigned pillars, and continuously iterate, ensuring there are user stories scoped that align with the overall business strategy;
- Partner with UX designer to translate user story functional requirements into mock-ups; Edit functional requirements based on feedback through the design phase;
- Provide user story design, maintainingaccountability of the product vision and user experience throughout the entire development process;
- Define acceptance criteria and accept or reject user stories based on agreed criteria, ensuring deadlines are met and product is delivered to the required specs.

**3.** **Solution Delivery -**
- Support the Product Manager in ensuring sprint items are planned and successfully delivered;
- Collaborate with development team during iteration cycles for requirements clarifications, insights for test plans and status on user story development;
- Develop an expert level understanding of assigned product area and how it is beneficial to our users;
- Support Product Manager with monitoring App Store reviews to help form ideas for future product development.

- **Creativity**- Authors new and unique ideas. Easily makes connections among previously unrelated notions and tends to be seen as original and value-added in brainstorming setting
- **Agility **- Able to shift between tasks and priorities; maintains focus and composure.
- **Technical Proficiency **- Curious and comfortable to tackle new systems or unknown territory, resourceful in learning

**Experience/Knowledge**:

- Experience in Specialty Retail or prior experience using the StoreForce Solution
- Azure DevOps (or familiarity with Jira an asset)
- Understanding of User Experience or UI principles
- Strong collaborator with ability to engage all relevant stakeholders
- Ability to effectively communicate technical/non-technical concepts to all stakeholders
- Agile or Scrum as asset
