**Job Title**
Specialist, Product Management
Mastercard’s Cyber and Intelligence organization develops and delivers world-class security products and services for customers across the globe. C&I was established to safeguard all aspects of safety and security in payments with new products, services, and standards.
Fraud and chargebacks disrupt the entire payments ecosystem, driving both card issuers and merchants to focus on resolving disputes instead of increasing card acceptance and revenue. Ethoca Consumer Clarity (“Clarity”) changes the dialogue, creating a rich environment for issuers and merchants to engage cardholders post-transaction, reducing frustration and driving repeat spend.
The Product Specialist, Consumer Clarity Product will work closely with members of the Product Management team to define product features and acceptance criteria, then work with engineering and other teams as a Product Owner to ensure features are built and launched in accordance with plans. This position reports to the Director of Product and is appropriate for a person wanting to transition to Product Management from another software discipline including development, quality assurance, technical product management, and others.
This role requires a curious, thoughtful, and analytical person with drive and passion for payments, fraud, and customer experience:
- Create functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and related guidance for engineering teams
- Perform all the functions of a Product Owner for one or more Scrum teams
- Understand the Software Development Lifecycle and surface any barriers or obstacles to deliver capabilities on time and budget
- Participate in ideation and design sessions with Product Managers and others, bringing an “on the ground” perspective to product design
- Ask meaningful and appropriate questions to understand and translate business requirements into desired functionality
- Help drive the rapid evolution of your products and ensure that our rich value proposition is fully delivered
- Take a data-driven approach to product enhancements, identifying opportunity areas and prioritizing work to deliver against key areas of focus
- Help build product documentation that is clear and easily consumable by other teams
- Take personal ownership for seeing tasks through to timely completion while keeping teams updated on progress
- Show eagerness to learn new business knowledge, technologies, tools, and systems
- Establish and maintain strong two-way communication with engineering and other teams
- Exhibit effective oral, written, and non-verbal communications
- Experience in the Payments, Card Fraud, Ecommerce, or Financial Services space is desired - experience in a technology role is required
- Serving as a Product Owner for software products - optimally, having worked on one or more v1 products
- Experience writing functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and product design documentation
- Experience building and launching products for worldwide markets
- Analytical, systematic thinker with a process-oriented and data-driven mindset, including a high attention to detail and quality
- Ability to hit the ground running, adapt quickly and take an action-oriented, roll-up-your-sleeves approach to execution that focuses on measurable results
- Hands-on, resourceful, and nimble with a track record executing against measurable outcomes
- Eager to deeply learn the product management discipline and best practices
- Verbal and written communication is clear and concise
**Corporate Security Responsibility**
All activities involving access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks comes with an inherent risk to the organization and, therefore, it is expected that every person working for, or on behalf of, Mastercard is responsible for information security and must:
- Abide by Mastercard’s security policies and practices;
