Human Resources Generalist

The Human Resources Generalist will support the daily HR activities for Alero Worldwide operations in managing the employee life cycle of activities with a primary focus on recruitment and staffing, employee relations, compliance, assisting in administering payroll, benefits, and maintenance of HR records through our electronic employee management system. This role also assists the Manager, Administration & Business Process with implementing company initiatives and programs.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Review, track and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This includes safety training, anti-harassment training, and all other training as required.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for human resources related matters in Bolton, ON, and Winnipeg, MB and communicate company initiatives and directions to management and employees.
- Assist in processing of bi-weekly payroll for all employees.
- Manage Bulletins and communication messages in Payworks.
- Learn and become proficient in the use of Applicant Tracking in Payworks, driving all hiring and related activities through the module, training users as required.
- Recruit, interview and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings, ensure job descriptions and skills matrix is up to date for all positions in the company.
- Maintain HR processes based on best practices and determine necessary improvements to achieve optimum performance.
- Assist in formulating staffing goals, turnover tracking, and all HR-related performance indicators, some of which are to be developed.
- Coordinate closely with senior management on issues relating to HR risk management.
- Ensure compliance is always current based on requirements of all levels of government.
- Participate and/or assist and monitor the company’s Health & Safety program within all facilities, including accident investigations and complaints.
- Monitor, report, and ensure compliance with the company’s policies and procedures.
- Ensure that regular reports regarding HR matters are prepared accurately and on-time.
- Follow all safety guidelines and always use appropriate PPE.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Skills / Experience / Required Qualifications**
- Certified Human Resources Professional** **(CHRP) Designation preferred or working towards
- Three to five years of progressive experience in a Human Resources role within a logistics/transportation organization preferred.
- Ability to rapidly learn and perform tasks related to the department, policies, rules, functions, procedures, or processes.
- Detail oriented and able to work in high-volume environment, meeting deadlines with critical priorities at the same time.
- Ability to lead and provide effective and timely feedback.
- Work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent computer skills using MS Office suite.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
