Communicative Disorder Asst

A Communicative Disorders Assistant working within two key roles within the Simcoe Muskoka Parry Sound Infant Hearing Program: 1. Providing hearing screening to infants born within the community under supervision 2. Key administrative tasks including data entry, support to Audiology services, coordinating screening clinics, communicating with families regarding follow up and overseeing referrals and booking timelines. The CDA infant hearing screener screens infants within the community clinic setting based on defined Ministry protocols and procedures. The CDA administrative support role involves working within the team to ensure smooth operation of hearing screening clinics and Audiological services including supporting bookings, referrals and clinicians within the program.
**Education**:
I. Secondary School Diploma or Equivalent
II. Community college Diploma specific to Communicative Disorders Assistant
**Experience**:
I. Experience and/or comfort with infants an asset
II. Experience working with children, parents and professionals in the area of child development an asset
III. Experience with data entry an asset
IV. Knowledge of up to date infection, prevention and control an asset
V. Experience with key systems including ISCIS, Meditech and/or Goldcare an asset
**Competencies**:
I. Strong organizational and multitasking skills
II. Flexibility
III. Effective written and verbal communication skills
IV. Vehicle and valid drivers license required
