**Position Summary**:
The HR Generalist is responsible for a range of duties ensuring the HR department delivers best practices to support the business across Canada and the U.S. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, recruitment, policy enforcement, employee relations, regulatory compliance, conditions of employment, staff training, absenteeism control programs, HR administrative functions, and supporting/developing internal HR programs. This role reports to the Director, Human Resources with responsibilities to assist Payroll Administrator.

**Job Requirements**
- Serves as a field advisor on all Human Resource related matters and actively participates operational processes by providing leadership team with analyses of information, headcounts, overtime reporting and disability case management.
- Create and administer employee contracts, compensation adjustments, and onboarding/offboarding of employees.
- Manage to advertising, recruiting, onboarding, training, etc. for all position types
- Administer any employee requests for Verification letters, PR and/or Visa related requests, Referral letters, etc.
- Provide support and manage functional areas including training & development, employee relations including disciplinary actions, performance, and merit cycles.
- Actively manage Worker’s Compensation, Disability and Benefits Administration in facilities across Canada and the United States.
- Provide guidance, policy interpretation and direction to the client group on issues of employee relations, HR Policies, and practices.
- Proactively assist managers in addressing organizational performance challenges, corrective action, and organizational development.
- Oversee the annual performance management and salary review process and provide guidance as required.
- Maintain employee files, provide employees with benefits information, and respond to benefit inquiries, maintain open communication with managers in assisting in day-to-day issues.
- Assist the Director, Human Resources, in ensuring delivery of Human Resources programs focused on enhancing organizational performance, depth of talent and employee productivity.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**:

- Minimum 3-5 year's progressive Human Resources experience as a Generalist. Exposure and support to working with management client groups will be considered an asset.
- University degree in a relevant discipline, plus completion of related professional development courses; CHRP designation an asset.
- Minimum 1-2 years of payroll experience.
- Experience using Ceridian Dayforce HCM or other payroll software an asset.
- Experience using an HRIS system
- Good understanding of legislation including payroll legislation and employment standards for both Canada and US. Experience with payroll in both Canada and the United States, an asset.
- Experience in Supply chain, logistics, transportation or manufacturing an asset.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of Canadian and US benefits an asset.
- Knowledge of SAP
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills combined with motivation, enthusiasm, and professionalism.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills.
- The ability to manage and execute quality throughput in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-player and willing work with all levels of staff and management within the organization.
- Ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities.
- Familiarity with transportation, production, or construction fields.
- University degree and/or post-secondary education in Human Resources, CHRP Designation an asset; or in the process of achieving designation.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with mínimal supervision.
- Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
- Ability to travel as required.
