**Location - **Work primarily takes place at North Campus, Edmonton.

**Position Summary**

The Resource Sharing Lead manages the daily operation, service, and student staffing activity of the Interlibrary Loan/Course Materials and Document Delivery teams. These teams are centralized and provide interlibrary loan, reading list/course material, and document delivery services to the University of Alberta campus community and external libraries. This role is responsible for selecting, training, and evaluating casual student staff, and training regular staff members, and assesses and assigns daily and weekly work priorities. This position monitors service, handles complex problem solving relating to interlibrary loan, course materials/reading lists and document delivery requests, user information, and related technology, and is the first level of support to whom the team members refer with problems or concerns. This role provides basic technical support for Relais, OCLC Worldshare ILL, DOCLINE, Canada Post and the Reading List, and works with ITS and vendor support in collaboration with the Head-Access Services, to resolve complex issues, relying on ITS and vendors to carry out advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics. This position requires a person who is a demonstrated self-starter with the ability to identify new trends and possibilities.

**Duties**
- Interprets unit and system policy as it applies to ILL/Course Materials and Document Delivery staff.
- Makes recommendations to the Head-Access Services regarding Interlibrary Loan and Course Materials services.
- Contributes to development of ILL & Course Materials procedures.
- Investigates and resolves problems relating to ILL & Course Materials services; communicates with clients on matters relating to ILL & Course Materials requests.
- Carries out quality control on requests to ensure staff follow procedures/policies and contractual obligations are met.
- Investigates problems related to back office circulation systems, Canada Post system, Relais Scanners, and TeamWork, and works with supervisory or other designated staff in other units, or vendors, to resolve them.
- Collaborate with other staff and Librarians to solve problems, and exchange information to implement policies and procedures.
- Responsible for student hiring, training, supervision, and mentorship, developing work schedules and managing timesheets.
- Carries out standard duties of an Interlibrary Loan/Course Materials Assistant.
- Provides point of need instruction on interlibrary loan and reading list systems to staff/clients.
- Provides administrative support for OCLC’s Relais ILL and Talis Aspire.
- Updates procedural documentation when changes/additions are made to procedures.
- Assists staff and clients with technology-related questions and problems.

**Qualifications**
- Library Technician Diploma, two years related technical/library experience.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
- Supervisory experience is considered a strong asset.
- Experience in providing excellent customer service.
