The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is a 5k or 1k walk or run. It is the largest single-day, volunteer-led event in Canada in support of the breast cancer cause.

This year’s event will be taking place on Sunday, October 6, 2024.

**COMMITTEE MEMBER OVERVIEW**

Knowledge and/or experience in any of the following responsibilities is considered an asset.

As the volunteer **Run Director, Community Engagement**, you will be responsible for:

- Providing leadership and guidance to your team of Community Engagement volunteers (4-6 people, depending on site size).
- Supporting the Community Engagement Leads in developing local engagement strategies
- Ensuring all important Community Engagement tasks are completed as per the timeline outlined in the critical path.
- Working to ensure your event meets local revenue and participant targets.
- Co-hosting committee meetings with your fellow Run Director, Logistics.
- Meeting regularly with your CCS staff partner and Run Director, Logistics.
- Reviewing the CIBC Run for the Cure Minimum Standards and ensure all committee initiatives abide by CCS best practices.
- Supporting the interviewing and onboarding of new Community Engagement volunteers.

**TIME COMMITMENT**
- This is a 6 month commitment (May through October)
- Attend local committee meetings (generally bi-weekly to monthly)
- Independent role work/responsibilities (approx. 2-4 hours per month)
- Must be available over the event weekend (October 5 & October 6)

La Course à la vie CIBC de la Société canadienne du cancer est une marche ou une course de 5 km ou 1 km. Il s'agit du plus grand événement d'une journée organisé par des bénévoles au Canada pour soutenir la cause du cancer du sein.

Cette année, l’événement aura lieu dimanche 6 octobre 2024.

**APERÇU DES MEMBRES DU COMITÉ**

La connaissance et/ou l'expérience de l'une des responsabilités suivantes est considérée comme un atout.

En tant que bénévole **Directeur de course, Engagement communautaire**, vous serez responsable de ce qui suit:

- Assurer la direction et l'encadrement de votre équipe de bénévoles de l'Engagement Communautaire (4 à 6 personnes, selon la taille du site).
- Soutenir les responsables de l'engagement communautaire dans l'élaboration de stratégies d'engagement locales.
- Veiller à ce que toutes les tâches importantes soient réalisées au sein de l'équipe chargée de l'Engagement Communautaire, conformément au calendrier défini dans le chemin critique.
- Veillez à ce que votre événement atteigne les objectifs locaux de revenus et de participants.
- Coorganiser des réunions de comité avec votre collègue Directeur de course, Logistique.
- Rencontrez régulièrement employé partenaire de la SCC et le Directeur de course, Logistique
- Examiner les normes mínimales de la Course à la vie CIBC et s'assurer que toutes les initiatives du comité respectent les meilleures pratiques de la SCC.
- Soutenir les entrevues et l'intégration des nouveaux bénévoles de l'engagement Communautaire.

**ENGAGEMENT DE TEMPS**
- Il s’agit d’un engagement de 6 mois (de mai à octobre)
- Vous devrez participer aux réunions des comités locaux (généralement toutes les deux semaines ou tous les mois).
- Vous serez responsable d'éxécuter indépendamment les tâches associées à votre rôle (environ 3 à 5 heures par mois)
- Vous devez être disponible pendant la fin de semaine de l'événement (5 et 6 octobre).

Participez dès aujourd'hui à la Course à la vie CIBC et contribuez à faire une réelle différence pour tous les Canadiens touchés par le cancer du sein.

Vous devez avoir plus de 18 ans pour postuler et remplir le code de conduite de la Société canadienne du cancer.
