The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is a 5k or 1k walk or run. It is the largest single-day, volunteer-led event in Canada in support of the breast cancer cause.

This year's event will be taking place on Sunday, October 6, 2024.

**COMMITTEE MEMBER OVERVIEW**

Knowledge and/or experience in any of the following responsibilities is considered an asset.

As the volunteer **Communications Lead**, you will be responsible for:

- Building and executing a local marketing and media relations plan to promote the CIBC Run for the Cure across multiple channels, using CCS and CIBC-approved materials.
- Ensuring all locally driven marketing, communications, and branding abide by the CIBC Run for the Cure Visual Identity Guidelines (VIGs) and CCS Writing Manual.
- Leveraging the Media Toolkit to promote the CIBC Run for the Cure to local media outlets.
- Developing a social media strategy to promote the CIBC Run for the Cure, in collaboration with the Social Media Coordinator (if applicable).
- Ensuring all social media responsibilities are completed if the Social Media Coordinator role remains vacant.

**TIME COMMITMENT**
- This is a 6-month commitment (May through October).
- Attending local committee meetings (bi-weekly to monthly).
- Independent role work/responsibilities (approx. 2-4 hours per month).
- Must be available over the event weekend (October 5 & October 6).

La Course à la vie CIBC de la Société canadienne du cancer est une marche ou une course de 5 km ou 1 km. Il s'agit du plus grand événement d'une journée organisé par des bénévoles au Canada pour soutenir la cause du cancer du sein.

Cette année, l'événement aura lieu dimanche 6 octobre 2023.

**APERÇU DES MEMBRES DU COMITÉ**

La connaissance et/ou l'expérience de l'une des responsabilités suivantes est considérée comme un atout.

En tant que bénévole **Responsable des communications**, vous serez responsable de ce qui suit:

- Élaborer et exécuter un plan local de marketing et de relations avec les médias pour promouvoir la Course à la vie CIBC par le biais de plusieurs canaux, en utilisant le matériel approuvé par la SCC et la CIBC.
- Veiller à ce que toutes les activités de marketing, de communication et de valorisation de la marque menées à l'échelle locale respectent les lignes directrices sur l'identité visuelle de la Course à la vie CIBC et le manuel de rédaction de la SCC.
- Tirez parti de la trousse à outils pour les médias afin de promouvoir la Course à la vie CIBC auprès des médias locaux.
- Élaborer une stratégie de médias sociaux pour promouvoir la Course à la vie CIBC, en collaboration avec le coordonnateur des médias sociaux (le cas échéant).
- S'assurer que toutes les responsabilités liées aux médias sociaux sont remplies si le rôle de coordinateur des médias sociaux reste vacant.

**ENGAGEMENT DE TEMPS**
- Il s'agit d'un engagement de 6 mois (de mai à octobre)
- Vous devrez participer aux réunions des comités locaux (généralement toutes les deux semaines ou tous les mois).
- Vous serez responsable d'éxécuter indépendamment les tâches associées à votre rôle (environ 2 à 4 heures par mois)
- Vous devez être disponible pendant la fin de semaine de l'événement (5 et 6 octobre).

Participez dès aujourd'hui à la Course à la vie CIBC et contribuez à faire une réelle différence pour tous les Canadiens touchés par le cancer du sein.

Vous devez avoir plus de 18 ans pour postuler et remplir le code de conduite de la Société canadienne du cancer.
