**Overview**

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Human Resources (AVP) the Human Resources Manager oversees the Talent & Culture functions of the hotel and supports the General Manager & AVP, in the implementation of strategy and programming that positions Sheraton Fallsview as an employer of choice in Niagara Falls.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:
Recruitment:

- Accountable for driving the recruitment processes and strategies for all departments.
- Develop and promote an engaging employee experience to create a positive, team focused culture.
- Ensure the delivery of a consistent, professional and compelling communications strategy to support business and culture objectives.
- Develops custom recruitment information for job boards and postings. Liaises with Marketing to support advertising on company website, social media sites, selected vendor websites and job boards.
- Develop and implement first-in-class onboarding for Associate’s & Leaders, driving increased satisfaction and retention including routine follow-up with Associate’s at key-points in their onboarding journey.
- Research, plan and participate in recruitment trips to key employment markets and partner schools
- Required to leverage all avenues of immigration and mobility program to maximize applicant pool

Culture:

- First and foremost, acts as the chief advocate for Associate’s and their safety & engagement.
- Builds trusting relationships across the organization as a key member of the hotel Leadership Team.
- Develops and implements a learning & development program which supports the hotels Four Diamond positioning.
- Champion of MGS and the employee discount program and incentives.
- Collaboratively works with Operations Managers, union representatives and Human Resources team to achieve continuous improvement
- Subject matter expert on all legislation, policies and procedures and collective agreements
- Assists with interpretation of collective agreement
- Manages the employee contract renewal process with the operations team to include identification of high potentials as well as below standard performers, succession planning, promotions, transfers; creates appropriate action plans
- Develops and implements internal communication strategy supporting a ‘one Team’ approach to service standards.
- Provides accurate, timely responses to employee and management inquiries regarding policies and employment legislation
- Monitors key performance indicators such as retention rates and utilizes tools such as exit interviews and develops appropriate opportunity strategies.
- Partners with AVP, HR and VP, Labour Relations on high risk situations to ensure CNH adheres to company policy and legislative requirements to limit exposure
- Facilitates appropriate record keeping & documentation.
- Leads and facilitates all workplace investigations

**Required Education & Experience**:

- University degree or college diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience
- Experience working in a unionized and non-unionized environment an asset but not required
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines as required
- Knowledge of workplace legislation
- Advanced computer knowledge (Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
