**AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY**:
To provide leadership, development, management, and evaluation of the City's Youth Strategy through the implementation and oversight of programs with inter-governmental and multi-sectorial partnerships, with educational institutions, community groups, and others. The goal is to develop and sustain youth skill development and supervision, stakeholder relations, and employment opportunities by taking evidence-based approaches and planning for sustainable program growth to service youths. The position collaborates with Human Resources in building and sustaining a viable talent pipeline for the City of Brampton while ensuring inclusion, accessibility, and equity-enhancing organizational practices.

**EMPLOYMENT & EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING**
- Lead, develop, and implement an internal corporate framework and City’s Youth Strategy to enhance coordination amongst departments and divisions within the City of Brampton to augment employment and experiential learning opportunities for youth.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to create specific entry-level jobs for youth, post-secondary students, and new graduates to support educational stream work placements and build a talent pipeline for the City of Brampton.
- Lead the coordination of employment and volunteer opportunities and programs to support youth experiencing multiple barriers to entering the labour force to positively contribute to the life of the city.
- Lead the coordination of other youth development and mentorship opportunities such as career transitioning and development and mentorship programs.
- Develop and implement detailed plans and recommendations regarding employment and volunteer opportunities and program-specific requirements.
- Develop implementation plans and strategies and evaluation mechanisms to review the City's progress.
- Conduct consultations with constituents and stakeholders and advise the Chief Administrative Officer or Council as needed of findings and recommended next steps.

**YOUTH OUTREACH AND ENGAGEMENT**
- Develop and maintain a communication plan to highlight program successes of the City’s Youth Strategy with local stakeholders such as community organizations and educational institutions.
- Prepare and/or supervise the preparation of publications, through popular and culturally appropriate outreach materials such as a webpage, social media, a newsletter, and other relevant outreach tools to engage community stakeholders and educational institutions and centralize all youth program resources.
- Communicate effectively and establish links with stakeholders to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions to meet the strategic program goals and objectives.
- Identify factors and manage operational issues which may impact the success of the City’s Youth Strategy and provide mitigation strategies to address these factors.
- Lead the implementation and development of a Brampton Youth Council and related initiatives; respond to inquiries, support with regular meetings, and related resourcing.
- Plan and encourage youth programming, outreach events, and services to meet the needs of the youth communities and align with the City’s Youth Strategy.
- Provide regular updates and briefings to senior management and Councilors on the status of the City’s Youth Strategy.

**COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP AND STAKEHOLDER OUTREACH**
- Strengthen, sustain, and develop relationships with community leaders, educational institutions, and funding partners.
- Participate and actively engage in cross-functional committees, representing program initiatives and the Office of the CAO.
- Engage with our community and educational partners to gain a better understanding of barriers and challenges experienced by youth in securing employment.
- Seeks strategic opportunities to develop funding strategies with and for community groups, agencies, and networks and assist stakeholders in negotiating monetary and non-monetary resources with all levels of government and key funding institutions.
