**JOB TITLE**: Intern, Black Youth Entrepreneurship

**DEPARTMENT**: Office of the CAO

**NUMBER OF POSITIONS**: 1

**JOB STATUS & DURATION**: Temporary, 12-weeks

**HOURS OF WORK**: 35 hour workweek / variable hours

**LOCATION**: Hybrid Model - when working onsite, you will report to the location of City Hall.

**HOURLY RATE**: $17.80

**JOB TYPE**: Management and Administration/Union

**AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY**:
Reporting to the Advisor, (Black) Economic Development Initiatives & Black Youth Entrepreneurship, this role will provide strategic planning, project management and coordination, in addition to communication and confidential services to the Advisor, Black Economic Development Initiatives to advance key divisional priorities on Black Youth Entrepreneurship.

This position is responsible for significant coordination of info and networking sessions, policy research, analysis, and multi-stakeholder engagement with Black Youth Entrepreneurs.
- Assist in managing and facilitate and Black Youth Entrepreneurship focused projects and initiatives to advance the priorities and goals of Economic Development
- Plan, organize, monitor, and evaluate project activities that include the coordination and implementation of programs and projects that support Black Youth
- Entrepreneurs and Economic Development
- Assist by participating on cross-divisional project teams within the City and with other stakeholders as required to implement approved Black Youth Entrepreneur Focused projects
- Assist in managing community-led Youth Entrepreneurs projects, which involve facilitating meaningful multi-stakeholder dialogue and liaising with internal departments, external agencies, businesses, organizations, institutions and the public
- Facilitate information sharing and presentations with interested youth groups
- Represent Brampton Economic Development at networking events and workshops
- Other similar and related duties as assigned

**SELECTION CRITERIA**:

- Strong analytical skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in economic analysis
- Excellent writing, including technical writing
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service
- Aptitude for economic statistics and theory
- Customer service excellence in client-facing work environment
- **Preference will be given to students that have a permanent residency in Brampton._
- **Various tests and/or exams may be administered as part of the selection criteria._
