**SORCe**
- The Safe Communities Opportunity and Resource Centre, or SORCe, is a multi-agency collaborative that connects people experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness and/or those with complex barriers such as mental or physical vulnerabilities, or socio-economic need, to programs and services that can help to address their needs. As a partner in the SORCe collaborative, Distress Centre Calgary operates the CAA Program at SORCe including Housing Strategists, Financial Empowerment programming and the System Navigator & Resource Specialists.
- The Coordinated Access and Assessment (CAA) program at SORCe is funded by the Calgary Homeless Foundation (CHF). The CAA program at SORCe serves as the primary intake & assessment for CHF funded housing first programs, and provides information, referrals, system navigation supports, and community connections to people who are experiencing or at-risk of experiencing homelessness. The objective of the program is to make meaningful, person centered impact that is agnostic to any particular program or service in the homelessness system of care or the broader social services sector. The CAA program aims to support the coordinated system in Calgary through preventing people from entering homelessness and/or reducing the barriers to sustainable housing for those at-risk or experiencing homelessness.

What to expect in the role:_**

**Job overview**

The Distress Centre at SORCe Team Lead provides day to day supervision and support for the CAA and operational staff at SORCe, working alongside with partner agency staff. This includes support and provision of direct participant service to people accessing the programs at SORCe when required, providing mentorship, and coaching to the various Distress Centre programs at SORCe. This position works alongside the Director of Programs and Program Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the Distress Centre’s programs and the SORCe collaborative space.

**Primary Duties**
- This is not an exhaustive list of duties, but meant to give you a sense of what you’ll be doing on a regular basis. Other related duties may be required.

Staff Supervision (60%)
- Daily supervision and performance monitoring of Distress Centre team at SORCe with an eye to ongoing program development and enhancement
- Provide leadership and guidance in the development of skills to achieve personal development goals
- Model desired behaviour in the delivery of participant services and motivate staff
- Provide formal monthly supervision for members of the Distress Centre team at SORCe
- Ensure quality data tracking practices for the Distress Centre team
- Onboarding which includes HR and IT set-up, site awareness, training framework adherence, policy and procedures and general SORCe introduction
- Maintain adherence for staff to program procedures incorporating SORCe protocols
- Assist with the supervision, training and development of practicum students when applicable
- When applicable, provide leadership and guidance to the SORCe team during crisis situations
- Back up the SORCe team as necessary in the effective delivery of participant services
- Approve time-off requests, approve staff development requests
- Provide annual reviews; feedback and mentorship for professional development plans alongside the Program Manager

Program Development and Implementation (15%)
- Participate in the recruitment of new members to the team
- Identify needs (e.g. training and staffing) and be present for consultation as required
- Assist with updating and maintaining internal documents for staff
- Support scheduling to meet all aspects of program delivery
- Assist with the delivery of CAA Housing Strategist training for frontline staff in the Homeless Serving System of Care

Frontline Service Delivery (25%)
- When required, the position will support Distress Centre staff with service delivery when the team is not at full capacity. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Completion/updating of the Needs and Services Questionnaire and Housing Plan for eligible participants-
- Facilitate intake and profile creation for new SORCe participants and updating case notes when required-
- Assessment of participant needs, system navigation, and facilitation of internal and external referrals to services-
- Develop and maintain inter-agency relationships and partnerships to ensure successful connections for CAA program participants to SORCe and community partnerships to aid in service delivery and participant outcomes-
