Team Lead, Financial Planning (Operations)
Trans Mountain operates Canada’s only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. We deliver approximately 300,000 barrels of petroleum products each day through 1,150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta and British Columbia, and 111 kilometres of pipeline in Washington state.

As a Team Lead, Financial Planning (Operations) with Trans Mountain, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a progressive and fast-paced group of experts. The Team Lead, Financial Planning (Operations) is responsible for leading the annual budget preparation and quarterly forecast updates with the operational functional areas of Trans Mountain. This individual is also responsible for providing guidance & training to operations RC owners on use of budget / forecast tools and collaborate with Team Lead, Financial Planning (Corporate) on standardization of budget / forecast process and documentation.
This position is based in our Calgary Head Office and reports to the Director, Finance.
Lead quarterly forecast updates with operations RC owners and provide guidance and training to operations RC owners on the use of budget and forecasting systems and tools.
Proactively analyze and investigate cost variances to budget and forecast and deliver ad hoc cost analysis and reporting.
Ensure consistent application of finance policies across operations RCs and seek guidance from finance colleagues when needed. Collaborate with Team Lead, Financial Planning (Corporate) on standardization of budget/forecast process and associated documentation.
Management/leadership experience managing a team would be considered an asset.
Budgeting and Forecasting, and Variance Analysis experiences are preferred.
Prior experience in a multi-currency accounting environment, and/or consolidation accounting is considered an asset.
Ability to attend to detail and accuracy and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner in a high-paced, agile and multi-task environment .
May need to provide support outside of regular business hours and/or on the weekend.
