The Centre for School Mental Health at Western University addresses the need for improved school-based promotion and prevention and intervention services for children who may be at risk for, or who present with, mental health challenges.
Our team of researchers, educators, students, and administrators is focused on the mental health, well-being, and relationship development of youth from Kindergarten to Grade 12.
We use outcomes and lessons from nationally funded research projects to deliver evidence-based programs and training for educators in schools and communities.
Our programs are developed through innovative research partnerships, high-quality training opportunities, and a commitment to knowledge mobilization between schools and community agencies.
The goal is to create a system of care that offers a continuum of effective mental health promotion, early intervention, and treatment for youth.
The vision of effective school mental health is one where multidisciplinary professionals within school-community partnerships can offer evidence-based services ranging from prevention to intervention, effectively removing barriers to learning and ultimately promotion well-being.
**Responsibilities**:
- The Project Coordinator will be responsible for supporting and overseeing aspects of the STRONG project at the Centre for School Mental Health within the Faculty of Education. The incumbent will coordinate and provide ongoing leadership of the clinical elements, including trainings and supervision by setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities among team members, and monitoring and summarizing progress and results. The incumbent will engage various stakeholders, ensure project support and sponsorship, and provide leadership and direction to the community partners.**Qualifications**:
**Education**:
- PhD in Psychology and Registered Clinical Psychologist in good standing.
- Experience:
- 2 years' work experience as a Clinical Psychologist
Skills, Abilities & Expertise:
- Familiarity with best practices in building a strong collaborative team and supervising/leading people
- Familiarity with research projects focused on youth mental health
- Familiarity with techniques for planning, managing and coordinating projects, with competing priorities that involve a variety of stakeholders
- Project management skills to ensure team roles are clear, milestones are communicated and deadlines are met
- Communication skills to clearly and effectively interact with all levels of the organization
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Results-oriented with the ability to motivate and coach employees to meet high performance standards
- Ability to interact professionally with students, staff, faculty, and other members of the University community
- Strong client focus with a desire to achieve results
