The Alzheimer Society of Brant, Haldimand Norfolk, and Hamilton Halton (ASBHNHH) is looking for a Team Lead, Counselling program for a 13-month contract. Under the direction of the Manager, Clinical Programs and Services, this position is accountable for the development and implementation of strategies to ensure the successful and smooth operation of the Counselling program. The Team lead must expend resources judiciously to respond to the needs of programs and services of the organization and provide ongoing support to the counselling team.

Office hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, but occasional evening work may be required. This role can be primarily based out of Burlington, Hamilton, Brantford, or Simcoe and has the opportunity for a hybrid office & remote work location. The annual salary range for this role is $46,400 - $69,600.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Supervision**:

- Responsible for screening, interviewing, and hiring of direct reports in consultation with the Manager, Clinical Programs and Services.
- Responsible for providing initial and ongoing training and orientation of all direct reports.
- Responsible for conducting regular supervision meetings with all direct reports.
- Responsible for the clinical supervision of direct reports as per accreditation standards and best practices.
- Responsible for scheduling and leading regular team meetings to encourage information sharing, promote team cohesion, seek employee input, and develop an engaged and healthy workplace culture.
- Provides leadership, coaching and support to employees to ensure client service excellence is maintained.
- Responsible for the administration of probationary and annual performance reviews, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and submitted for signature in a timely manner.
- Works in collaboration with other Management Team members to share information, problem solve, and streamline procedures to improve service provision.
- Under the direction of the Manager, Clinical Programs and Services, is responsible for addressing staffing issues, monitoring the performance of direct reports, and assisting with the discipline of direct reports (up to and including termination).

**Program Leadership and Development**:

- Ensures team targets are met, issues flagged, and potential solutions proposed.
- Ensures the smooth operation and continuity of services by responding to and planning for department priorities as per the direction of the Manager, Clinical Programs and Services.
- Coordinates scheduling of team members including approving vacation, sick time, and educational opportunities.
- Ensures that services are responsive to the needs of a culturally diverse population.
- Participates in Quality Improvement initiatives as identified in the Quality Improvement Plan.
- Participates in internal and external networks and committees as requested by the Manager, Clinical Programs and Services.
- Collaborates with other community organizations and service providers on issues and activities related to dementia care and the specific area in which he/she provides leadership at the request of the Manager, Clinical Programs and Services.

**Communication and Networking**:

- Participates in fundraising special events and selected third party events as required.
- Participates in team meetings and ASBHNHH staff and branch meetings.
- Advocates on behalf of persons living with dementia and their families as per ASBHNHH guidelines.
- Collaborates with other employees in tasks such as organizing events, including setting up and cleaning up rooms for activities and special events.

**Record Keeping**:

- Enters, updates, and maintains client notes in the organization’s database.
- Performs file audits as per accreditation requirements.

**Group Facilitation**:

- Facilitate therapeutic group for Reitman Carers’ Program as required.

**Other**:

- Represents the Alzheimer Society professionally in the community.
- Participates in organizational committees and task forces as requested by the Manager, Clinical Programs and Services.
- Complies with organizational policies and procedures.
- Complies with the duties imposed by law or contract and the policies and procedures for performing the job in a safe and healthy manner.
- Takes an active role in promoting and protecting personal health and safety and the health and safety of others, both staff and consumers. [Sec. 28(2) OHSA]
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**Educational and Experience Requirements**:

- An undergraduate degree in Social Work (MSW is preferred) or a comparable education is required.
- Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in community settings providing counselling services to older adults and persons living with dementia.
