**Responsibilities**:
The Facilities Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the athletics infrastructure, facilities and equipment are in proper working condition, and available for use by a diverse group of clients, including inter-collegiate sports, campus recreation, general student and London city/regional community purposes. The role will support the effective functioning of the athletic facilities and equipment through the provision of ongoing management, planning and oversight of preventative maintenance and repairs, and will participate in the development and implementation of capital plans for renovation projects and space changes. The Facilities Manager will provide leadership regarding facilities issues and inquiries, and provide advice, consultation and guidance related to the facilities.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- Undergraduate Degree or Community College Diploma in Building Services, Facilities Management or related field

**Experience**:

- 7 years in a role overseeing and managing facilities, equipment and related infrastructure
- 2 years’ experience supervising staff in a unionized environment
- Experience managing athletic facilities is preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Thorough knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, guidelines and regulations
- Knowledge of project management tools and resources, as well as common project obstacles and necessary controls and contingency plans that will help address them
- Ability to collaborate across internal and external boundaries to meet common objectives, improve outcomes and support work beyond one's own unit
- Ability to establish effective routines for excellent communication with all members of the team to maximize productivity
- Verbal communication skills to clearly express ideas in an objective manner, and adapt communication style to suit the situation and audience
- Critical thinking skills to analyze problems, and collect information required to make an accurate conclusion
- Customer service skills to understand customer needs and expectations, with a desire to deliver helpful and reliable service to the University community
- Ability and willingness to employ a consultative and collaborative approach to addressing issues and making decisions
- Ability to make decisions and recommendations that are clearly linked to the organization's strategy and goals
- Ability and willingness to stay abreast of technological developments
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to efficiently handle a variety of tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines by setting effective priorities
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven ability to take initiative and champion a project from conception through implementation and evaluation
- Interpersonal skills to seek out and build relationships with supported units, clients, and other stakeholders to improve service delivery
