With over 35 years working in building restoration, pressure washing and window cleaning, not to mention snow removal, Allstar Group of companies and its 100+ employee are a thriving BC based business. We work with clients to provide safe and efficient service throughout the lower mainland and Victoria. Our dedicated staff are often found working on ladders, swing stages, and working from ropes on building high up in the sky.

**Job Summary**
Reporting to the President, this will be the first HR Manager working for the company, due to our growth. You will be responsible for developing and administering the AllStar Holdings human resources program, working closely with finance, operations and the safety team to build and encourage career development for employees at Allstar. You will understand working with tradespeople and an operations team. No two days will be the same, and this role will suit a HR professional looking for part time work.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Leadership**
- Work in cooperation with the Operations Managers/Site Supervisors and Safety Manager to develop and implement the company’s human resources program.
- Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation and recommend necessary changes to Operations Managers and owners of the companies.
- Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels, to create a positive, supportive and safe work environment.

**Recruitment**
- Update and maintain job postings and the talent pipeline.
- Research and recommend new sourcing tools and techniques.
- Liaise with Academic institutions and organizations related to construction industry.
- Investigate grant opportunities, coops and other funding.

**HR Operations and Training**
- Administer letter of offers and contracts to all employee.
- Work with Immigration Lawyer to collect, organize and process employment documentation for international employees.
- Organize new employee orientation and training plan for new employees. Ensure understanding of how payroll and health benefits are administered.
- Perform necessary training with employees within qualifications and outsource additional training as necessary.
- Keep track of employee training and certification renewals.
- Coordinate internal employee experience, staff education programs and events.
- Create employee recognition program.

**Benefits and Payroll**
- Administer Chamber benefits plan and statutory remittances, updating spreadsheets to removed inactive employees and update in Sage.
- Administer employer/employee benefits premiums, RRSP contributions, etc.
- Maintain employee filing system, ensuring Personal Information Privacy Act guidelines are followed.
- As a back up, coordinate and review timesheets from supervisors and administer salary increase notification to finance team. Back up payroll processing and contract database management when needed.

**Who are you?**
You have a post secondary diploma in Human Resources Management. You are someone who understands the constructions industry, working with trades and enjoys the challenge of not knowing what is next, but has the ability to intuitively step in to provide support to our team. We will look to you for direction on how our people practices can develop. You have strong written and computer skills, can write, update and implement policies. You know when to lead and when to follow.

If you speak a second language, such as Spanish, Tagalog, etc., that would be an asset.

As this is a part time role, you may be someone looking for a flexible schedule or at the end of your career - but still have a lot to offer. The salary ranges listed is an approximate range for a full time employee in this role and will be based on your experience and working 24 hours per week.
