About the Role

At Family Services of Greater Vancouver, we’ve been helping people in crisis since 1928. As a non-profit, we help people develop skills and knowledge, empowering our neighbours to create positive change in their lives. Our team is made up of more than 420 staff, including expert counsellors and support workers who provide compassionate, client-centered care to youth experiencing homelessness, families and children impacted by trauma, victims of domestic violence, and other vulnerable people from an evidence-based, trauma-informed lens. The Program Manager is responsible for the management, quality, and supervision of the designated program areas. As a member of the management team, the Program Manager supervises staff members, participates in budgeting and manages within their budget, as well as fostering relationships with funders and other internal and external parties. The manager will work with colleagues and co-workers in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve excellence in client and family centred care, within a complex multi-site environment that extends to the community.

**Salary**: MGP3 annual salary ranging from $ 69,669.60 to $ 77,222.60 depending on experience.

What you bring:
**Education, Training, Experience**
- A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline such as Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, Human Sciences or other related field.
- 5-7 years of recent, related experience in a leadership role, working in Victim Services and closely with police or MCFD
- Experience managing and leading team members, preferred

**Professional Certification, License or Registration Requirements**:

- Successful completion of Criminal Record Check
- Valid driver’s license and/or reliable access to transportation to travel between locations.
- May require Enhanced Security Clearances for both the Vancouver Police Department and the New Westminster Police Department.

**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities**
- Awareness of community services, resources and systems and ability to work with these; competence in working with a multi-cultural community.
- Strong understanding of victim support services and program management and development, including crisis intervention and emotional support, information, advocacy and support to victims of violence navigating the justice system and social services.
- Knowledge of current counselling theories, strategies, and practices around victim services, trauma, and sexual and domestic abuse.
- Proven ability to supervise teams of victim service workers and administrative staff.
- Strong ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders; to develop, manage and evaluate clinical programs considering client needs, service delivery interrelationships, and service potential within a complex, multi-site environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and effectively with justice system personnel and other victim service and community programs.
- A committed ability to keep informed about evolving trends and best practices, share knowledge, and support staff to integrate innovation into the delivery of quality care/services.
- Ability to understand available resources for programs and keep quality in the forefront of all resource utilization decisions; providing feedback and detailed analysis on budget variances, and making recommendations for corrective action.
