Victim Service Worker

**At Hollyburn Community Services Society **we provide a continuum of supports to youth, seniors, individuals and families with social vulnerabilities on the North Shore and we are looking for people to join our team who want to do the same.
**The role we need to fill is** Victim Support worker who will provide services to victims of all genders who have experienced domestic, sexualized and family violence, and criminal harassment. This service aims to lessen the trauma and assist in the recovery associated with being a victim of crime through the provision of support, information, referrals, and practical assistance
This position is full-time at 35 hours a week.
**Required qualifications**
- BSW or equivalent plus 3 years related experience, or College Diploma
- Understanding of the dynamics of violence in intimate relationships, sexual assault and abuse and criminal harassment
- Familiarity with the criminal justice system and court process
- A valid B.C. Driver’s License and a vehicle with business insurance of $3,000,000 liability
- Must be able to pass a Criminal Record Check.
**You’ll score more points if you have**:
- Knowledge of relevant resources/programs available within the community to assist victims of domestic, family and sexualized violence
- Experience liaising with community resources and professionals
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Excellent written, oral communication and record keeping skills
- Current First Aid/CPR certificate
- A second language; Farsi-speaking an asset
**A sample of what you’ll be doing**:
- Provide emotional support specific to clients’ unique needs and concerns
- Develop and revise comprehensive individualized safety plans
- Attend team meetings and professional supervision as scheduled
- Assist in identifying client needs and providing referral information regarding appropriate resources
- Provide information and orientation regarding the Criminal Justice system and roles of key parties
- Maintain professional and supportive relationships with other relevant community agencies and stakeholders
**Job Type**: Part-time
**Salary**: $29.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 per week
