We do this by investing in projects that are pre-commercial and have the potential to demonstrate significant and quantifiable environmental and economic benefits in one or more of the following areas: climate change, clean air, clean water and clean soil.

**Purpose**:
The purpose of this position is to assist SDTC across its three areas of focus - deal sourcing, deal selection and post-investment portfolio company support. You will support us in providing research and analysis around local and regional innovation ecosystems and their connection to their national counterparts, as well as helping to refine our data collection and reporting methodologies to improve our understanding of company leads’ evolution over time. Through this work you will develop an understanding of the networks of investors, customers, public institutions and other entities that help companies to grow and scale. This position will work closely with our national Ecosystems team in its execution of strategic projects related to ecosystem supports across Canada, diversifying and expanding SDTC’s applicant pool, coordinating and running SDTC’s Seed funding stream and more.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Execute research and analytical tasks requiring accuracy, completeness, and capacity to extract relevant data from large datasets (both qualitative and quantitative).
- Document project work performed in a clear and concise manner.
- Help SDTC build internal datasets and dashboards using internal and external data.
- Prepare presentations summarizing key research findings to different audiences.
- Assist in the review and update SDTC’s current internal processes to ensure overall adherence to processes and identify inefficiencies.
- Collaborate and contribute to various ecosystems projects and initiatives.

**Experience and Education Requirements**:
Experience: Alternative technology, innovation, sustainability, and/or equity, diversity and inclusion-related experience would be considered an asset.

Education: Currently enrolled in an economics, business administration and/or science-based program (environmental management/sciences, sustainability).

- _Technologically savvy:_ Confidence working within the MS Office suite of tools.
- _Adaptable:_ Flexible, with the ability to adapt to a very fluid, rapidly changing environment.
- _Attitude:_ Proactive and positive with an eagerness to learn and create impact with a given task.
- _Organized and Independent:_ Able to effectively manage time and stay on top of deadlines with limited supervision in our remote-first workplace.

**Assets**:

- Knowledge of French.
- Experience with CRM suites like Microsoft Dynamics 365, business intelligence tools like Power BI and/or group collaboration software.
- Business development experience.
- Interest in technology and innovation.
