Respiratory Therapy Unit Manager

Reporting to the Program Manager, Respiratory Therapy, the Unit Manager is responsible for the direct supervision of (RT I) Respiratory Therapists and support staff (Clinical Leads-RT II) as assigned. A key focus of this role involves the coordination and organization of assigned human, equipment and material resources to ensure effective program delivery. This role will support quality innovation and the identification and resolution of issues that impact service to site, in consultation with the Respiratory Therapy Manager. The Unit Manager is the first line contact for assigned staff to resolve problems related to staffing, patient care or other service concerns. This individual ensures that adequate staff are scheduled. Hiring, discipline and performance conversations are a responsibility of this position, in consultation with the Manager and Human Resources. Further responsibilities include investigation of complaints, resolution of issues (both patient and staff), and follow up where required. This role may also lead special projects as assigned by the Respiratory Therapy Manager. This position is non-unionized.

**Required Qualifications**:
Graduate of a School of Respiratory Therapy. Five years current relevant experience required within an acute care setting. Current BLS certification, Current CRTA license.
**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Excellent, current knowledge in all clinical aspects of service delivery within Respiratory Therapy. Demonstrated leadership in Respiratory Therapy. Must be able to maintain privacy, dignity, confidentiality and morale of all concerned. Computer skills essential.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
