**Site Communication Manager**

New Glasgow, NS

Working with the Canadian Director of Communications, the **Site Communication Manager** is responsible for internal employee communications at the Michelin manufacturing facility and Canadian corporate headquarters in Pictou County.

The Site Communication Manager provides feedback to the management team and contributes to the development of the strategy and communication plans, employee engagement, digital/visual engagement, event management, community relations, crisis communication, and brand strategy and reputation management.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- managing the development and implementation of strategic, corporate, and brand communication plans;
- developing communication tools and change communication plans, as well as drafting messaging for all levels of management;
- identifying gaps in communication, developing and executing action plans to correct, and equipping leadership with tools to improve engagement;
- maintenance and content creation for the corporate intranet site;
- supporting planning, execution and communication of internal events within budget, ensuring that messaging is interpreted as intended;
- contributing as a key member in community relations, developing key messages, engaging with employees in executing the strategy, and participation in community events;
- using crisis communication tools, identifying obstacles and risks, and employing crisis principles as needed and according to brand and reputation management guidelines; and,
- ensuring consistent use of branding in terms of editorial, visual, and sound identities.

**Requirements for this position include**:

- A Bachelor's degree in Business Communications, English, Journalism, Public Relations or a similar communication field of study;
- 2-4 years of experience in a communications role; and,
- experience in a manufacturing environment preferred, but not required.
- a speech developed for a company leader at a community event; or,
- a press release announcing the launch of a new product, service or project.
