**Summary**:
The File Management Coordinator is a permanent full-time new position starting in January 2025. This position will help coordinate referrals to the Youth Justice Committee program, as well as enhance support and engagement with victims.

**Youth Justice Committee File Management Coordinator (*NEW*)**
Permanent Full-time starting in January 2025. This position requires 35 hours per week. Some evening availability throughout the week is essential to answer call-backs and connect with participants after work/school hours. This position is a hybrid work-from-home with an occasional office presence.

**About Youth Justice Committees**:
Youth Justice Committees provide an alternative to court for young people facing criminal charges. Community volunteers work with young people, their parents/guardians, victims, the justice system, and the community, to find appropriate, meaningful responses that hold young people accountable without holding them back.
**About the Role**:
The File Management Coordinator is a new position to help coordinate an increase in referrals to the YJC program as well as enhance support and engagement with victims. This role will be responsible for making the initial contact with young people, parents/guardians, and victims for all referrals made to the Youth Justice Committee program, encouraging participation, connecting to resources where needed, and then assigning the file to a YJC. Connecting with victims may also include meeting in person to support them in a Restorative Justice process. This position is also the liaison with referral sources (ie: Calgary Police Service, Calgary Youth Attendance Centre, etc.) to communicate progress and outcomes of files.
**What You'll Do**:
Contact Young Person, Parents/Guardians, Victims
- Meeting with victims in person to support a Restorative Justice process where applicable.
- Helping parties to access resources if needed.
- Assigning files to Youth Justice Committees. Data Entry and Tracking
- Entering data into a referral database and tracking file progress. Referral Liaison
- Being a liaison with referral sources for individual file management. Team member
- Contributing to the YJC team to support the program, including a YJC Operations Coordinator, Community Engagement Coordinator, and Law Enforcement Liaison.
**What you Bring**:
- Post-secondary education in Criminal Justice, Social Work or related human services field
- A solid understanding of the Youth Justice System and workflows, knowing the YCJA, specifically Extrajudicial Measures and Sanctions, and Youth Justice Committees.
- A working experience with Restorative Justice principles and practices, specifically with victim-centered approaches is essential. Certification is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience working within a trauma-informed lens.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with youth, families, and victims.
- Ability to work with a large volume of 300 to 400 files per year.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive and professional communication with justice stakeholders, referral sources, program participants, and volunteers.
**Competencies and Attributes Required for Success in this Role**:
- Excellent organizational skills with fine attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently to manage own time and priorities to meet expectations.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) and database experience.
- Strong ethics and ability to manage confidential data.
- Enthusiasm and passion for working with and supporting volunteers.
- Compassionate and non-judgmental.
**Other Requirements**:
- Clear Police Check including Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Intervention Record Check
- Private and reliable home office with sufficient internet coverage for working from and delivering programming from home.
- Ability to work flexible hours (evenings and weekends) as needed to reach program participants.
