JOB SUMMARY
The Provider Relations Representative is responsible for investigating the eligibility of providers, setting up of providers in all systems, issuing agreements and correspondence, and inquiries.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicates and coordinates fees with Providers.
- Determines the eligibility of Providers for the Claims department, including National Providers, and eligibility for web registration.
- Contacts providers for claims information.
- Contacts Provider Associations to respond to Claims inquiries.
- Assists with the maintenance of the Provider portion of the Manitoba Blue Cross web-site and assists with the development of all communication pieces for Providers, including provider user guides.
- Maintains BlueNet pharmacy providers. Registers and coordinates agreements with new pharmacies and updates files as necessary.
- Communicates with providers in writing and by phone.
- Issues ambulance, EHB, medical transfer, vision and hostel provider agreements.
- Maintains all Provider listings for the Claims department.
- Participates in corporate and departmental projects.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Dedicated to the principles of exceptional service; committed to responding to, anticipating and addressing customer needs, for both internal and external customers.
- Post secondary degree, certificate, or diploma in Commerce or Business Administration or discipline related to Health Benefits industry. Equivalent combination of education and 2 to 5 years’ experience may be considered.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills including experience conducting presentations.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels within the organization in a team environment.
- Functions well in a team setting.
- Ability to complete unstructured, non-routine assignments.
- Requires mínimal supervision and direction.
- Ability to learn and absorb a variety of tasks quickly.
- Completion of or capable of completing industry education programs entailing a self-directed study and the writing of graded examinations. Specific programs include but are not limited to LOMA ( ACS ) and CEBS. Enrollment in, and completion of, such courses, as well as programs of professional development, will be encouraged.
