Production Coordinator

**ROLE SUMMARY**: Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Assistant is responsible for the effective and timely coordination of production related activities at BTN Niagara. This includes daily preparation of production work orders, tags, tracking and recording of daily production to ensure the production plan remains on schedule.
BTN strives to maintain a team environment where every individual is important to the Organization as a whole. The Production Assistant is responsible for setting a good working example and maintaining a positive work environment. Developing strong working relationships and clear communication across all departments is imperative.
**RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES**:
**Processes / SOP’s**
- Entering daily production numbers for both Niagara locations (Line 4 and Line 6) including costing of plant material into Prom (custom software) to be posted. Identify discrepancies once potting has been completed and report to the Production Planning Manager to ensure the recording of numbers are accurate and validated
- Tracking daily efficiencies and report daily
- Updating tracking spreadsheets daily
- Creating work orders based on the production schedule, hard goods availability, plug/URC/live goods available, soils, locations, as well as other criteria affecting production. This includes but is not limited to; tag printing, T-stake sticker, prioritizing potting based on production criteria
- Entering weekly propagation that has been completed
- Running both weekly potting and propagation Overdue Report highlighting issues for the Production Planning Manager. Investigate and follow up on incomplete items
- Liaising and monitoring line leads regarding correct pot usage, meeting production rates and completing the correct number of flats
- Providing feedback and direction to crews regarding daily operations and escalating issues to the Production Planning Manager as required
- Verifying locations where potting was laid down to ensure accuracy by following the location plan designed by the Grow Team
- Assisting with inventory management to reduce waste and ensure accurate accounting of hard goods and consumables; notifies Production Planning Manager about low inventory or variances
- Assisting the Production Planning Manager and team during Christmas production
- Assisting in other departments as needed including distribution during peak season as needed
- Assist Receiving with receiving plant material and investigates discrepancies related to PO’s
**Reporting**
- Responsible for submitting any daily, weekly, monthly, or annual reports to the Production Team when requested and to perform specific ad hoc reports where necessary

- Excellent supervisory skills and ability to work efficiently in the absence of the Supervisor.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Excellent ability to transmit clear instruction, both verbally and written to Team Members.
- Promote a positive, safe, professional, efficient, and productive work environment.
- Possess strong technical skills
- Understand proper lifting techniques.
- Ability to work in fluctuating indoor/outdoor temperatures & conditions.
- Ability to walk freely, bend, kneel and turn free of restriction
- Spanish language skills an asset.
