The Literacy Program Coordinator will be responsible for the development, implementation, and stability of the Aboriginal Literacy Program, to meet the community needs.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- College Certificate and/or Diploma in Education, Indigenous studies, Social Work or a combination of the equivalent and relevant education;
- 3 years demonstrated and work-related experience within the area of teaching/facilitating;
- Experience working in a community and/or Indigenous organization is an asset;
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office suite;
- Knowledge of Indigenous and non-Indigenous community supports and services;
- Strong knowledge and awareness of Indigenous culture and history, with particular on the emphasis on the impacts of trauma;
- High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment;
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain lasting working relationships;
- First Aid/CPR certification or be willing to be certified;
- Must be available to work some evenings and occasional weekends;
- Valid driver’s license with clear driving record and have access to reliable transportation is an asset;
- Must have or obtain, within 30 days of hiring date, a Vulnerable Sector CPIC.
