**Financial Empowerment Program Coordinator**

**Overview**:
**Position Summary**:
The Financial Empowerment Program Coordinator is responsible for the program's overall coordination and will actively support tax filing and financial empowerment services. This also includes developing and facilitating presentations, tracking data, preparing reports, and cultivating partner relationships with community stakeholders.

- have experience and knowledge of the Canadian tax system and experience filing taxes for diverse populations of persons living on a low or moderate income.
- are an effective and engaging presenter with a passion for working with and supporting people with diverse needs.
- enjoy and have experience developing educational workshops and trainings and are an engaging presenter
- have strong analytical and organizational skills.

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary degree or diploma in social services, education or related field, or minimum 3 years working experience supporting individuals with community referrals, education/training or personal advocacy
- Prior experience coordinating programs or projects
- Strong presentation and training skills
- Prior experience working in one of financial empowerment, financial literacy, or tax filing
- Extensive knowledge of Hamilton’s social service system and agencies and referral networks;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity and inclusion with the ability to communicate and work effectively inter-culturally with diverse groups of people
- Well-developed analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills (e.g. Excel, Word, MS OfficeTeams, Sharepoint, Zoom)
- Ability to work in and support a team approach
- Ability to speak a language other than English an asset
- Registration with Canada Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) an asset

**Physical Requirements**
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs
- Must be able to do computer work for significant periods of time
