CADTH is Canada’s drug and health technology agency. We’re a not-for-profit organization headquartered in Ottawa, with a satellite office in Toronto. We’re funded by Canada’s federal, provincial, and territorial governments to provide independent information and advice to the country’s publicly funded health care systems. Health administrators and policy experts rely on CADTH to inform their decisions about the funding and appropriate use of the drugs, devices, and services used to prevent, diagnose, and treat medical conditions.

**Primary Focus**

**On any given day, the Program Development Officer will**:

- Develop, scope, and refine drug health policy queries through consultation with CADTH customers (federal, provincial, and territorial decision-makers), the PMDE network (CoLab) and appropriate internal CADTH teams.
- Work to identify the appropriate deliverables and timelines to meet the customer’s needs as part of the scoping and refinement process
- Identify and engage the most appropriate network research team(s) and facilitate collaboration within the PMDE network.
- Work with the PMDE Operations team to determine the feasibility of the query to ensure the appropriate data is available and accessible and determine if the network has capacity and possesses all the necessary expertise, and if required identify any additional expert advice and guidance required.
- Offer continued support of query throughout the process by liaising and working with the customer, PMDE network and PMDE Operations team to ensure customer needs are met.
- Disseminate query reports and summary results to the customer(s).
- Coordinate access to additional CADTH support such as the Engagement, Real-World Evidence, Research Information Services, Publications, and other teams.
- Support the expansion and maintenance of the PMDE network by monitoring the capabilities and capacity of network partners and collaborators.
- Represent CADTH nationally and internationally at meetings, conferences, and other events, upon request.
- Provide information sessions and presentations on the relevant queries within and outside CADTH.

**Is this the right role for you?**
- The Program Development Officer will likely have:_
- Fluency in French and English
- A post-secondary education in a relevant area such as health science or related discipline and at least 4 to 5 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of health technologies, health technology assessment (drug and non-drug) and health policy and how to best maximize the uptake and impact of evidence-based information in the health sector in Canada.
- Strength in identifying health policy issues and health policy guidance.
- Skilled at critical appraisal of study design, clinical trial data, and methodological approaches, experience in real-world evidence would be an asset.
- Proficient in utilization and clinical data analysis.
- An understanding of the Canadian health care system and knowledge of the decision-making processes within the Federal, Provincial and Territorial governments.
- Strong writing, presentation, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work, communicate and build collaborative and productive relationships with a variety of stakeholders and knowledge users.
- Strong customer service orientation and attitude.
- Ability to lead by influence and demonstrate diplomacy.
- Strong time management, organizational and prioritization skills along with solid planning and analytical skills.
- Experience in managing multiple tasks and ability to manage and facilitate change.
- Advanced software skills including Excel and PowerPoint.
