Youth Without Shelter (YWS) is an emergency residence and referral agency serving homeless youth age 16-24. We don’t just provide a warm bed for a night; we are dedicated to providing shelter and individualized support through our wraparound programs including case management, life skills, employment, housing and counselling. We are a safe, non-judgmental, comfortable home dedicated to diverse, client-focused services designed to move young people out of homelessness and reach their goal of independent, stable living.

We have become known as a house where a youth’s culture and needs are understood, and where all operations are trauma-informed and designed to be youth-centric, build self-esteem and resiliency, and focus on personal strengths.

**Position Description**

As the Mental Health Worker/Psychotherapist, you will provide leadership, support and oversight of the clinical services at YWS and deliver one-on-one resident care in the area of mental and addiction health services. You will Identify and perform staff training opportunities with Case Managers on effective strategies and best practices and collaborate with all YWS departments to promote program development with a focus on integrating the health needs of residents. The role requires a mixture of hands-on clinical work, strategic development and liaising with key stakeholders in an effort to deliver a high-quality program.

**Job Duties**
- Conduct and formulate psychosocial clinical assessments for residents upon intake and referred aftercare clients.
- Deliver psychotherapy to individuals and groups to meet therapeutic goals.
- Provide and promote mental health and addiction health education to individuals and groups including family units.
- Develop treatment plans that engage youth to take an active part in their own treatment.
- Provide leadership and oversight of Case Management Services.
- Collaborate with internal departments to develop and expand programs in a direction that considers and prioritizes youth mental health.
- Provide outreach support to after-care clients.
- Work with other disciplines in diagnosing problems, formulating treatment plans, and evaluating progress.
- Staff training and Case Manager education on effective strategies and best practices.
- Consult with doctors, therapists and medical professionals and instruct health care professionals of the individual’s situation to ensure seamless care.
- Assist youth in their continuing adjustment to the community and evaluate their need for further care and potential need of placements.
- Provide up-to-date information to youth on mental health community resources and referrals.
- Maintain treatment records for each resident, regularly update SMIS and Airtable and prepare verbal and written reports related to the work.
- Actively participate in case conference meetings to provide the best wrap around services and supports for each resident.
- Maintain sustainable working relationships with community agencies, schools, law enforcement and courts.
- Co-ordinate data collection and analysis for program and individual care evaluation.
- Build a library of resources and services for minority populations (e.g. racial minorities, 2SLGBTQ+)
- Attend scheduled department and staff meetings.
- Practice within his/her full scope of practice as outlined in the Standards of Practice by the College of Social Workers or related Regulated Health Practitioner’s College

**Requirements**:

- Must be a member of a College for Regulated Health Professionals that are authorized to provide assessment, diagnosis, and psychotherapy. For example, Master of Social Work (MSW) and good standing with the College of Social Work or registration with another Regulated Health Professional (e.g. College of Psychotherapists) and in good standing with their respective college
- Minimum 3 years of social work experience in a health care setting or social service agency
- Qualifying Psychotherapists must have regular outside Supervision
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team
- Authorized to assess and diagnose complex mental health disorders
- Training and expertise in delivering a wide range of therapeutic models including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavio
